I’m excited to share that we’re improving what’s offered with Zapier plans. We’ve implemented three massive changes to help you get the most out of Zapier:More Zap workflows: We’re removing the Zap limits on Free and Starter plans. We want everyone to be free to build as many Zap workflows they want. So now, every plan offers unlimited Zap workflows.  More flexible: It can be hard to predict sudden spikes in task usage, which can lead to unexpectedly large bills or your Zap workflows turning off. With the introduction of a pay-per-task billing if you exceed your plan's task limit, you can pay for each additional task at 1.25x the price of a task on your current subscription.  More valuable: Filter, Formatter, and Paths actions will no longer count towards your task usage. Yes, you read that right! If you’re on a paid plan you won’t incur any task usage for sending data between Filter, Formatter, Paths by Zapier, and another app. Making those all important advanced workflows much more cost-effective.You'll now have access to certain features across all plans, providing more value for your subscription. And with the introduction of pay-per-task billing for tasks over your plan limit, you can keep your Zap workflows running without interruption; and you can decide when to upgrade at a time that’s right for your business.Excited to learn more? We’re back with another Zap editor improvement! This one is related to the test records from your trigger steps.What’s changingWith this release, we’re improving test record selection by:Introducing “search” across test records  Improving the UI so that you can easily switch between test recordsBefore:You would have to click a dropdown, select a test record, then check if it was sufficient for your testing needs. If the record did not meet your testing needs, you’d have to click back into the dropdown and repeat.After:You can now switch between records with one click and search across multiple records to find one that meets your testing needs. A note on namingIn the past we’ve used the words “sample data” to describe what your Zap triggers provide. Moving forward we will use “test records” instead.In speaking with you, our users, we’ve realized that this terminology is more in line with the language y’all use :) 

In our Zapier team account, we have a lot of folders. Like, a lot. That can make it hard to find the one we need.If like me, you’ve ever wished you could go to your Zap workflows page and search by folder name, well, now you can: Happy searching!

If you’ve used Zapier for any length of time, you've probably used our Formatter app. It transforms text, numbers, and other data into the format you need, so that your apps work seamlessly together.We’ve added the magic of AI into your Zap workflows, to help you make better use of Formatter!Discover your formatting options in-line. No need to manually find and build out a Formatter step — with AI magic, you can see the option to reformat data in any field you’re mapping. Automatically format data using plain English. Describe how you’d like to reformat your data in a sentence, and we’ll draft a Formatter step for you to use. Watch your data get transformed, in fewer clicks. How It WorksWhen mapping data into your fields, click “Format data” to open the Formatter with AI modal.  Write a prompt in natural language in the text box, e.g. “Change the date format from MM/DD/YY to DD/MM/YYYY.” Click “Create step.” The step will take a few seconds to load. Your new Formatter step will appear in the Zap.  Test the action.  How’d it turn out? With this new feature available on the Team and Company plans, you can effortlessly offboard users from your Zapier account, so your essential Zap workflows continue to run smoothly during team changes.OverviewSo what does that look like?Simplified Off-boarding: Experience a streamlined offboarding process that informs Super Admins of Zap workflows owned by departing users, so you can transfer ownership and keep business-critical Zap workflows running smoothly. Uninterrupted Workflows: Keep your business-critical Zap workflows running smoothly, ensuring minimal disruptions and sustained productivity as your team transitions to new roles. Enhanced Confidence: Offboard users with confidence. Zapier’s offboarding process gives you the safeguards you need to transfer Zap workflows and connections effectively, so personnel changes don’t break your essential processes.Possible Use CasesEmployee Departure: When an employee leaves the company (involuntarily or voluntarily) and is removed from the account, Admins will see the user’s Zap workflows so they can be transferred to the appropriate admin or team member, preventing any disruptions in business workflows. Role Changes: If a team member's role changes within the organization, and their access to Zapier is removed, Admins can see which Zap workflows the user owns, so they can transfer the Zap workflows to the appropriate users, keeping workflows uninterrupted.How It WorksWhen a user is being removed from the account a modal will appear. This modal will alert the Admin that the user’s Zap workflows and app connections will be transferred over to that account owner, and provide recommended steps to follow.The steps include:Download a CSV of the user’s owned items Read a help article called, “Offboarding users from your Team or Company account”You can continue to remove the user or cancel the action. Simplify Zap ownership: You can easily transfer ownership of multiple Zap workflows to a new user, streamlining your Zap ownership management process. Save time and effort: Change ownership in bulk instead of Zap-by-Zap, saving you time and effort, and enabling you to focus on other important tasks.Possible Use CasesA team member has departed, or is about to, and it’s critical for the Super Admin to reassign their Zap workflows to ensure continuous operation. After shifting from a common login to personal ones, they’re looking to transfer ownership to the team member responsible for building it. Their goal is to pass the baton of a process to a team member, like someone in Marketing Ops or Sales Ops, who will assume ownership of the Zap going forward.” When a user builds a business-critical Zap in a private folder, the Super Admin can transfer it to a shared folder for improved oversight.”How It WorksOn the Zap workflows page, users can choose to change the ownership of Zap workflows. There are two ways to change the owners.Select multiple Zap workflows → Right click → Select Change Owner → Assign to new owner Select multiple Zap workflows → Open dropdown in bulk actions menu → Select Change Owner → Assign to new ownerAfter a new owner has been selected, a notification will appear. The notification lets the owner know that the ownership of the Zap workflows is changing and directs them to a new Queued Actions page. The Queued Actions page will show all of the bulk actions that are processing.

Over the past few months, we’ve released numerous highly-requested product features. Many of them enable teams to build and manage Zap workflows more easily.Let’s take a look at the new features that empower teams to create, keep track of, and control mission-critical workflows—at scale.For those of you who would like a written recap, see below :)Build together fearlessly We’ve improved the Zap editor, making the experience for teams building Zap workflows together even better!Drag and drop steps/pathsWhile this happened late in 2022, it bears mentioning since it had been so highly-requested by our users. Being able to drag and drop steps and paths within Zap workflows was definitely a quality-of-life improvement!Copy & paste steps/paths within and across Zap workflows Building upon last year’s duplicating and reordering steps/paths, we’ve made it possible to copy steps/paths from one Zap and add them to entirely different Zap workflows.This saves time and enables teams to build workflows faster than ever. Pick and choose the steps you need from existing Zap workflows, and place them in new Zap workflows.Editor performance improvementsIn general, we’ve been working hard to make our Zap editor snappier and more efficient to work with. A lot of this can’t be seen, but hopefully those of you who spend a fair amount of time building Zap workflows can feel it.Manage processes confidentlyYou’ve no doubt got specific processes that need to be online at all times. And if something goes wrong with a workflow, you need a way to get back online and back to business. We’ve introduced some features that help you do just that.Version history and rollbackLast year, we released Version History and Version Preview on all paid plans. This enabled users to save and track multiple versions of a Zap (awesome!), including descriptions of who made the changes and why.This year, we've built even more functionality, adding Version Rollback on Pro, Team, and Company plans. That means that in addition to seeing a history of previous Zap versions, you can restore a previous working version. Troubleshooting just got easier!Custom error notificationsSome Zap workflows will require immediate attention if something goes wrong. For example, Zap workflows that manage leads, sales, onboarding, etc. Other workflows might not be as critical, like that Zap that texts you when it’s going to rain.Cut through the noise and escalate your business-stopping Zap workflows. Pro, Team and Company users can configure email notifications by Zap. Choose to be notified immediately, with a summary, or block notifications.Advanced Zap settingsUsers on the Company plan now have two advanced Zap settings: autoreplay override and error ratio override. Autoreplay override ignores your default account setting for autoreplay. If your workflow has a failed Zap run, you can set each Zap to either always replay or never replay.Error ratio override lets you control whether an errored Zap should turn off or keep playing. We know that some errors are expected, and those errors shouldn't prevent your Zap workflows from running.Prefer to keep errored Zap workflows running and receive fewer error notifications? Customize your email rules to be notified of errors with a summary instead of immediately. Maintain oversight every step of the wayWhile you likely want to empower your teams to harness the power of automation, you’ll also want to be aware of what they’re automating.With the next two features, we make that possible :)Super admin roleWith this role, you can designate someone in your account as a Super Admin, allowing them to help you manage all the Zap workflows (even the private ones). Users on the Company account can appoint multiple Super Admins. Audit logOwners & Super Admins on Team and Company accounts can see an audit log across their entire account so that they feel comfortable adding new users to their account.Drag and drop Zap workflows into foldersEfficiently manage your Zap workflows at scale. Drag and drop Zap workflows between folders to organize them.Wrapping up...We hope you’re enjoying all of the improvements we’re making, and features we’re adding, in order to enable better building, organization, and collaboration when using Zapier. TL;DR: The new Custom Error Notifications feature is being introduced to Pro, Team, and Company plans that allows users to customize error notifications. This will give users more control over when and what they are notified about, addressing previous issues with the volume and relevance of error notifications. About Custom Error Notifications  If you're on a Pro, Team, or Company account, you can now set custom error notifications for your high-priority workflows. Set up custom email rules for each Zap, deciding whether you want to be notified of errors immediately, with a summary, or not at all.And if you're on a Team or Company account, you can set rules for Zap workflows that you don't own but have access to. Here's how to set it up: Click on your profile and go to your Settings. Click on the Email Notifications tab…and then Error notification settings.  At the top, you can change the default alert frequency for all Zap workflows. You can choose immediate alerts…an hourly summary…or nothing at all. If you're on a Pro plan or higher, you'll see Custom Notification Rules. Click Create notification rule. Select a Zap, choose your frequency from the dropdown menu, then save it! Don’t fret, you can also delete your custom rules at any time. Personalize your error notifications for better support, and head to your error notification settings now!Pro tip: Check out our support guide on creating custom notification rules from our Help Center for more information.We’ll keep you updated on any further developments, and as always, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us with questions or feedback.
