How to embed images in Discord messages
Hey friends! If you’re reading this then you probably already know that the Send Channel Message action for Discord doesn’t currently have a field for image files to be attached. While you can include links to images in the Message Text field and they’ll usually be displayed, you can’t add embed them so that the image link isn’t shown. Bummer, right? Well, not anymore! Let me show you a neat trick to get around this using my favourite app, Webhooks by Zapier. In Discord Set up the webhook In Zapier Set up your trigger Set up your action Bonus: Attach other types of files Wrapping UpIn DiscordTo get around having to create a custom integration to handle all the fancy OAuth stuff we’re going to utilise Discord’s built in Webhooks feature. It’s a bit more limited, but is super quick to set up.Set up the webhookTo set up the webhook in Discord, click the Edit Channel icon next to one of the channel names on your server:Next, you’ll want to click on the Integrations option on the menu. PROOF: Delay For Less than 1 Minute with the Delay For Action Step
PROOF that it is indeed possible to delay a Zap for less than 1 minute using the Delay For action step! CreditsTroy Tessalone is a Certified Zapier Expert at Automation Ace. Don’t believe everything you read, and when in doubt, test it out! Screenshot below shows the Zap Run history with a timestamp created before and after 30 second delay.(Note: The time difference between the 2 timestamps shown is a bit longer than 30 seconds because of the time it takes to process the other Zap steps.) Notice below the field Time Delayed For (value) it states:Use a number (decimals are accepted). Note: minimum delay is one minute. How the Zap with a delay for less than 1 minute was tested…Created a Zap with these 5 steps.Step 1 triggers the Zap from a webhook.Step 2 creates a timestamp before the delay.Step 3 does a delay for .5 minutes (aka 30 seconds).Step 4 creates a timestamp after the delay.Step 5 posts a webhook with the timestamps before and after the delay. How to Trigger for Specific Field Level Changes in Pipedrive
Have you ever wanted to trigger a Zap for a specific field level change in Pipedrive? For example - maybe you want to know when a Contact’s primary email address changes. In Zapier today - we have an Updated Person trigger - but it will trigger on any change to the Person Record (not just for specific fields).Using Pipedrive’s built-in workflow automation - we can focus-in on specific field level changes to Pipedrive records - and trigger Zaps when they change.Step 1: Set Up Pipedrive WorkflowThe first thing we want to do is set-up a Workflow in Pipedrive. This will enable us to isolate field level changes. You can see Pipedrive’s Workflow Documentation here. Our Pipedrive Workflow would work like this. Trigger Person Updated Filter to only Look for Changes to the Primary Email Address - and only when it Exists (if it is changed to Blank we don’t want the Zap to trigger). Create Activity in Pipedrive. Here’s the full Pipedrive workflow.I want to point out a few things in that screensh

Trigger your Zaps from Pipedrive with a button click
Hi All,All of you who work with Pipedrive are probably familiar with some difficulties and limitations on how you can trigger your Zaps from you deal, organization or person. As we know currently the options are either through webhooks, filters etc. which is often inefficient or you may receive multiple hooks for the same event. At the same time it may be very confusing for a user to understand if a Zap did / should have triggered, as they have no visibility on the rules you have set up.For this reason we have developed a free Pipedrive add-on which allows you to create custom buttons on any Pipedrive deal, person or organization. You can then listen on the button clicks in your Zap though a webhook. The add-on can be found in the Pipedrive marketplace: Pipedrive Marketplace - Third Party Apps & Integrations 1There’s also an example in our help documents how to set things up: https://help.zimple.io/books/zimple-oneclick-en/page/oneclick-zapierHope you enjoy it as much as we do!Vellu
How to create a database of Google Drive files in Airtable
Hi there, this is Erin Oz from the Premier Support Team with a workflow idea to share. Background InfoDo you have a lot of files in your Google Drive, but you can never find what you’re looking for? Or have you thought about doing a file reorganization project, and wondered if there’s a way to automate a record of which files have been added to the new folder? Folks with large collections of video files, audio files, or other libraries of information often try to use nesting folders in a Drive to keep things organized, but it can be hard to browse through items that meet certain criteria. For example, my brass quintet has a large library of sheet music. A “work” (a song) consists of parts for each member of the group. So for a standard brass quintet, there will be five “parts” for each work: Trumpet 1, Trumpet 2, Horn, Trombone, and Bass Trombone (Tuba). We keep a folder with the title of the work, and each folder contains five PDF files for each part. Any given work also has a number
Automate your Wordle brags
Deb here, from the Zapier blog. I solved Wordle in 2/6 this morning, so I'm posting this mostly to give myself a platform to gloat about that. But some folks at Zapier have found a slightly more tactful way to brag about their scores.Joshua Barnes, our Growth Account Manager, set up a Zap that automatically pulls his friends' scores into a Google Sheet so they can all scoff at celebrate each other's daily Wordle showing. Here's the article where he walks through the Zap, so you can set it up for yourself. How to automate a weekly Wordle competition for friendsAnd hey, if you got a 6/6 today (or, oof, missed it altogether—I, of course, have no idea what that might feel like), you can get a second attempt using another Zapier employee's Google Sheets version of Wordle. (I swear we do actual work here.)Have you used automation for games or competitions? Let me know in the comments, and we might feature you on the Zapier blog!

Filters vs Paths vs Lookup Tables: A Visual Guide
Even the most seasoned Zapier user sometimes has a hard time deciding whether to use a filter with multiple Zaps, a single Zap with multiple paths, or a single Zap with a lookup table. We’re trying something a little different and providing a visual guide that hopefully helps to clarify when/why you might choose to use one over the other.Filters Paths Lookup Table Did This Help?FiltersIf you’re trying to have several different outcomes from your workflow, using multiple Zaps with a filter is one way to approach it.Click to enlarge.PathsSimilar to using multiple Zaps with a filter, Paths provide multiple outcomes using only one Zap.Click to enlarge. Lookup TablePerhaps the most misunderstood of all the options, a lookup table is beneficial when you’ve got specific fields that decide an outcome. Saving your Switch screenshots to Google Drive via Twitter
Hi folks! Clint here again with another Workflow Wednesday! As you may know, I’m a huge nerd, and one of my favorite things to do is take screenshots in video games and send them to my other, nerdy friends. Unfortunately, getting those screenshots off the Nintendo Switch onto any other platform is a bit tricky or labor intensive. That’s where this workflow comes in - we’re going to post screenshots to a special Twitter account directly in the Switch, then automatically upload them to Google Drive using Zapier! This also applies to any Twitter account where you’d like to capture all the images it uploads. The ChallengeTaking screenshots on the Switch saves them to the internal hard drive OR an SD card. I don’t know about you, but I’m not really looking forward to digging up my SD card converter or yet another USB-C cable to get those off myself.Instead of doing that every time I want to share my new floor plan in Animal Crossing (yes, I’m still playing), I’d like these to automatically s

Automatically convert your files to PDF
Hi! It’s Deb, from the Zapier blog. Fact about me: I think PDFs are pretty. Just...so pretty. I feel like even when they’re formatted poorly or have weird fonts or designs, they’re still so very nice to look at.Just me?Even if you’re more of a DOCX or RTF fan (which, why?), Zapier can help you automatically turn files into whatever format you prefer, by connecting to CloudConvert. Take a look at our blog post about how to create a PDF: get shortcuts for your desktop and phone, and learn how to automate the process. How to create a PDFWhenver a file is added to a folder in your cloud storage (Google Drive, Dropbox, OneDrive, whatever), it will automatically convert it to your new file type and drop it back into the same or another folder. You don’t need to lift a finger. How do do you automate your files? Let me know in the comments, and we might feature your workflow on the Zapier blog!

Adding some pizzazz to the Community with robot avatars
My teammates@Liz_Roberts and@Rachael S recently shared a LinkedIn post by Brian Oblinger that said:Create a set of unique, colorful, and interesting default avatars that are randomly assigned for new community members. Gives your community personality, looks less dull than thousands of silhouettes, and encourages members to change it to something that suits them. Quick win!Challenge accepted! Formatter Features: Line Itemizer Overview
What It Looks Like What It Can (and Can't) Do Some Ways to Use It 1. Add line items to existing data 2. Create line items from scratch, to use in later steps 3. AI-generated executive team meeting minutes with OpenAI, Loops, Code, Google Docs, and Slack
Hi, all!I work with Chiefs-of-Staff on teams at VC-backed startups. My clients find creating and sharing meeting minutes can be super time-consuming, so I created a Zapier pipeline that integrates automatically generated Google Meet transcripts with OpenAI to produce comprehensive meeting minutes, including:A summary, Key insights, Top quotes, Requests for help from the rest of the company, and Feedback for the meeting facilitators/participantsThis is then posted to the company Slack. Here’s a tutorial on how to build a Zapier Zap that connect with your own data and automatically creates meeting summaries! There’s so much more I’d like to do with this, including linking directly to video clips of the quotes, storing the transcript in a vector DB like Pinecone so it can be queried discursively later (many via a Slack bot w/ access to the company’s private knowledge repo?), and incorporating context in re the company’s quarterly goals into the prompts…I had a blast creating this pipeline wi
