Error handling in a Zap?

I have a Zap that uses an integration’s action that may raise an exception if the data doesn’t follow certain business rules. Is there a way to catch an error in a Zap such that it could be handled then the action retried? I could use the “Looping” feature to retry the action a set number of times, but I don’t know how to catch an error such that the Zap continues to work.

Passkeys. Real or not?

This website just published a blog post on Passkeys, extolling the wonders. Yet this website itself does not seem to have support for it, nor do others that say they support passkeys (https://account.live.com/proofs/manage/additional?uaid=336fb4b29af248f7bbd1bd914c716023 for example). So let’s stop all the security theatre already! Admit it’s all a mess, needs an overall, so hang on, it’s gunna be a long rocky road to a password free world.

Zapier NLA Google Calendar API (LangChain) doesn't work

NLA rate limits

Hello, I want to use the NLA API. I am testing them, so I know how reliable they are. However, after about 10 or so queries, I am inevitably met with {error: rate limit exceeded...}. Is this rate limit per action or for the whole of the NLA API? Where is that rate limit described? I couldn’t find it anywhere in the docs. Is there a way to increase this rate limit? Do unsuccessful queries count toward the rate limit? I’m asking because I currently, if I hit the rate limit, I try a few more times. If this counts toward the rate limit, it’s a bit counterproductive to do this.

Only show our own app in the Zap Editor with Embedded Zapier

Hi, This question is regarding Embedded Zapier (Full Zapier Experience). We would like to use Zapier to enable our users to create their own workflows within our app but restrict the actions to only use our app. When testing out the Embedded Zapier it seems like the user would be able to select all 5000+ apps when creating Zaps. I can’t find any option to restrict it to only a single app. Is this use case not supported by Zapier to use it for creating workflows only using 1 single app?

Create beforeRequest that performs a GET request

I am accessing an API that uses basic auth for its endpoints. One of the challenges, however, is that the vendor requires changing the account’s password every 7 days. To handle this, I have a Zap that makes the change, then stores the updated credentials in Zapier Storage. The storage_secret and storage_key have been added to the authentication.js script as fields. In my application, I need a way to retrieve these credentials before each call to the vendor’s endpoint. OAuth2 - Token Revocation

I've made an app in Zapier, but I'm having trouble revoking the authentication tokens. I want to set up a process where when a customer deletes the integration between my software and Zapier, a request is sent to Zapier asking them to remove the connection to my app from their platform. Furthermore, if a customer removes a connection of my app from Zapier, I want to receive either an event notification or a DELETE request on my OAuth2 endpoints so that I can revoke the associated tokens. Although I have previously communicated with Zapier regarding this matter, it appears that they do not support this basic OAuth2 flow. Therefore, I would like to ask if anyone could give me some advice on how to achieve the same result using alternative methods. https://oauth.net/2/token-revocation/https://www.rfc-editor.org/rfc/rfc7009.html

Bad UX on Zooming Zapier editor

I think there is bad UX on the new UI specifically on the zoom element Normally the zoom should be [ - ] [ 100%] [ + ] but in Zapier is [ + ] [ 100% ] [ - ] I think this is bad UX. Maybe someone and Zapier can fix it?

How to embed Gmail Authentication into our Product via Zapier?

Hi We are building a product where we want clients to connect their gmail account via Zapier so that We can trigger different workflows when following things happen: When client receives email we want to get notified When client modifies his Google sheet, we want to get notified and do different calculation on the sheet We want this thing to be embedded into our product. Kindly let me know what is best way to do this with Zapier.

Zapier doesn't honor 410 anymore?

Hi all, Since we our app is launched, we manage to remove/disable webhooks created by Zapier when we receive status code 410 error from Zapier but since couple of weeks, it seems that Zapier doesn’t reply with 410 for old /disabled zap but with a usual 200. From documentation: “If your application receives a 410 response, that webhook subscription is no longer active, and you should stop sending data to it.” Doesn’t anyone has this behavior? is it new? Nested Line Item Groups (Array inside array)

There was a post from last year that said this wasn’t possible without some coding shenanigans.

Webhooks that send varying data

Hey! I am creating a Zapier Integration that attaches to forms in our application. Each customer of ours has many forms, each with varying fields. How do we dynamically handle fiends. I’d love to just send JSON over with the fields in key/value pairs, but since this varies from request to request and the possibilities are infinite, how do zapier users access that data in their zaps? Ie.) if the output doesn’t define the field “first_name” is there a way to access that in actions for when it exists? Thanks in advance!

Hi, Is there any API zapier provides to post tweets directly on twitter? Earlier I was using Twitter APIs but now rate limits are set and a user can post only 100 tweets in 24 hours which is not practical. Thanks

Check zap draft or final (live)?

Hello. I created integration for my app. It works very well. Zapier does create separate webhooks for the draft version of a Zap and the final (live) version. In bundle data zap_id is different for both of draft and live versions. When zapier sends me request to given url how can I detect that is it live or draft? Because I only need to store webhook of live version. In bundle data I can’t find something to solve this. Thanks in advance!

Repeated session-auth requests?

I can’t seem to figure out why Zapier keeps re-authenticating even though there aren’t any 401 errors. You can see that the test request comes back consistently with a 200 response, but is followed by new authentication requests. I’m hitting rate limits on the /api-token-auth/ endpoint because of this. Any ideas on what might be going on? Inconsistent wrapping between performlist test sample and an actual sample from perform rest hook trigger

Hello I am making a rest hook trigger using performList to give a test sample for the user to be able to map. I follow the same pattern as this example: https://github.com/zapier/zapier-platform/blob/main/examples/restHooks.js except my output field are dynamics so I must rely on a sample queried from my API. when performList, Zapier wraps the sample queried from my API like so: But does not wrap it evenly in perform Here is an history of Zap run between my trigger and a google sheet action that consists of creating a new row: The mapping for COL$A, COL$B and COL$C here are based on the sample obtained from my performList hook. But actually the data pushed by my rest hook trigger is: Which I would expect to be mapped like the test sample, as a zapier post-process. (hidden from my cli-integration POV) There is no longer the automatic zapier wrapping with fullfillmentValue property. My push is taken as is. Therefore I get empty/blank value in my action app. Thank you

How to remove the zapier default wrapper around trigger test's sample ?

Zap Triggers on Slack Group Mentions

A primary use case for Zapier, IMO, is to respond to group mentions from any public channel. This is supported for individuals, but not for groups. I’m curious how many other people in the community want this feature, and whether we can get it prioritized. What are the blockers?What is the timeline for it becoming supported?How many other customers would like this feature? There is a flaky work-around by using a New Mention Trigger and using the group id as a Custom Name. But getting support on missed triggers is difficult with unsupported use.

Zapier instant trigger having dynamic data

Hello I am trying to make my own app’s trigger using cli-integration. I cant use static output fields, my trigger have dynamic output fields, defined according to input field. I am based on this example https://github.com/zapier/zapier-platform/blob/main/examples/restHooks.js that might be outdated it seems, considering the doc:https://help.zapier.com/hc/en-us/articles/8496244568589-Types-of-triggers-in-Zaps#polling-triggers-0-1 at section “Testing triggers to return test records” My trigger have one input, an idProject, which is used to know what kind of output the trigger will have ie what is the json structure of my webhook push. my API will then push notification following the schema of the given idProject. So I make zapier call my API to fetch some sample data, like in the github example (performList) even though we are using a rest web hook. When making the zap at the test trigger phase, it fails with “Unable to pull contacts Please reload the page. If the issue persists, trouble

How to create trigger for updated records.

Where to change domain name for existing app?

Hi - I’ve taken over the development of an existing custom Zapier app we’ve built with the Zapier CLI. All I want to do now is connect our existing app to a new environment hosted on a new domain name (ideally keeping the existing app as is). So ending up with: Appv1 connecting to old-domain.example.com Appv2 connecting to new-domain.example.net The functionality of the app can remain the same for now. I just don’t see where the the current domain name (“old-domain.example.com”) is set? I don’t see it in the Zapier settings for the app and I don’t see it in the code for the app either? Any pointers or guidance appreciated. Thanks!

User data from intercom not available || Problem with hydrate

While searching for a user in intercom everything seems to work while clicking through the Zap myself. Data out while editing zap: As soon as i test it in a live environment, the user data is not available for the slack message in the next step. Set an input to NULL

Is there a way to set a Zap’s input’s value to NULL? For example, I’d like to clear the contents of the Notes field when a Zap is run (in addition to other modifications).
