Sharing "choices" between two different inputField dropdowns

I am developing an integration to a database-like application.One action is to create a new record with a dictionary of data.The input form for the New Record Action starts with a question about which Record Type is going to be saved. Based on this value, subsequent form dropdowns ask which field on that Record Type the user wants to set. Another form item (List, with choices) allows the user to select which fields to return from the operation.Each of these form fields does an API call to ask what fields are available on the selected Record Type, in order to present the list to the user. This is quite inefficient as it basically has to repeat the exact same request multiple times as you set it up.When the Zap is running, it again does the API request to get the field names, I guess because Zapier is looking at the inputFields structure to query on key, type, etc., and the “choices” list is requested and triggers the API call.What I would like to be able to do is to query the API for th

Get Access Token using authorization code from Redirect URL

Hello everyone!I’m currently working on private app integration for ecommerce platform. I manage to generate the Authorization URL that will be use by user to authorize their seller shop.As far as I understand, after the user authorized their seller shop, the redirect URL will redirect them to a our website and the URL will contain “Authorization Code”.My question is how do the Zapier app integration can get the “Authorization code” from the redirect URL?will the “Authorization code” automatically sent to my app integration “Access Token Request” section code right after the user finish authorized their seller shop?or I have to write code in Authorization URL section to send the “Authorization code” to Access Token Request section?Any help is welcome!Thank you.

How to set up a polling trigger with API parameter changedSince

Hi,I’m creating a Zapier integration with a REST API that offers a possibility to poll new/changed data with an api parameter changedSince. The changedSince parameter accepts a datetime value. The endpoint being for example get ‘{baseUrl}/projects?changedSince=YYYY-MM-DDTHH:mm:ssZ’I would like to create a trigger which polls this api endpoint but how could I set the changedSince to be the datetime of the previous zap run?Zapier deduper instructions assume that the api returns everything like get ‘{baseUrl}/projects’ and then the data is sorted to display newest on top, but this API does not offer a possibility to sort the data.Does anyone have any good / helpful ideas on how to create a trigger with this endpoint where changedSince value would be the datetime of the previous zap run? Can I catch the previous run timestamp somehow?

How do i test zapier-cli app in private mode?

I created an app using zapier cli and pushed it. Its in private mode right now. When I try to create a zap and search for my app, it shows it in disabled form with text “By Invite”. I created an account from another email address and invited that user. When I try to create a zap there, same thing happens. can anyone tell me if I am doing something wrong?

Questions on the capability of the Developer API

Hi there, I'm working on an app that allows users to create a workflow that involves operations from three different apps (Google Calendar, Gmail, and Discord). I've been exploring Zapier's API as a way to accomplish this, but I've run into some challenges. Specifically, I want to provide a way for users to authenticate the other apps directly within my app, rather than having to log in to their Zapier account separately. Then the app will use Zapier to communicate with those third party apps on the backend. Is there a way to use Zapier's API to accomplish this? To provide a bit more context, my app is designed to help users manage their tasks and events across multiple platforms. The ability to integrate with other apps like Google Calendar and Gmail is essential to our users, and we want to make the integration process as seamless as possible. Invalid date formatted to Today

My CLI application/integration has several actions each with one or more datetime input fields. My QA team has reported that when they send an invalid date string, e.g. `2023-02-31`, it is converted to today’s date and time.I have put some console logging into the action perform function and confirmed that when the rawInput value is an invalid date, the input value is today’s date.I have been asked to treat invalid dates as an error and to halt execution.I have considered adding code that checks the input value and if it is today’s date, then inspects the rawInput to determine if the original input was an invalid date. I think this sounds much easier said than done.Is there an easier way to do this? Is there some way to get the formatter to not convert invalid dates to today?

Need help with creating a new Zapier Integration using Dotnet Core backend

I have a Dotnet (core) application where I'm integrating Zapier. Now on Zapier's developer platform when I'm creating a new integration, the first step is Authentication where you have different types of auth, e.g. OAuth V2, Session Auth, etc. In my application, I authorize users and all the API calls using Dotnet's Identity Provider where I use User.Identity.IsAuthenticated to check whether the user is signed in and the Authorize attribute to verify an API call along with ClaimsPrincipal.I tried all types of auth provided in Zapier's developer portal but it fails. I would really appreciate some input about integrating Zapier with my application

"Response needs to be JSON, form-urlencoded or parsed in middleware."

Hello,i’m currently working on creating a zapier app with the help of the zapier-cli.During the last step of authentication (“getAccessToken”), i successfully receive the ‘access_token’ in the response, but zapier throws an error, saying: "Response needs to be JSON, form-urlencoded or parsed in middleware.".The response from our backend looks like this: {"access_token":"CodeGoesHere"} and sends the Content-Type header `application/json`.What could be the reason for this error and/or how can i further debug/fix this? Regards,Daniel

How to send the response of a trigger into my action

I’m building a zapier integration with my app that has an actionthe action simply needs to take whatever response from the trigger and do something on it (I just need to send the response of previous trigger to the endpoint so I can manage it)I built the action and it works but I don’t know how to append the response of the trigger to it? the input fields look like it’s something the user need to enter but I don’t want user interaction I just want to send the raw response of the previous trigger?

Json data returned in Python code step

JSON parse error when submitting request to API

Hello!Upon performing a z.request() to upload a file to my API, I get this error back:"Could not parse request body into json: Could not parse payload into json: Unexpected character ('-' (code 45)) in numeric value: expected digit (0-9) to follow minus sign...”I do not get this error if I include no form data in the request. Does anyone know a fix for this? My code is basically the default “uploadFile_v10” from the example app except with my URL substituted in.

Custom authentication for integration app

I created a integration app with the UI, which I later converted to a CLI project.The app integrates with a service that doesn’t have a REST API, but it has a node.js client.  Is it just a matter of adding the logic to the authentication.js script that makes the client call?  Perhaps setting sessionConfig.perform.source to a function?

What does it mean when I get a response 'key'?

I’m trying to implement dynamic fields into my action with responses from a trigger. So the flow is like the following:field A → trigger loads field B → trigger loads dynamic fields.However, when I test the action, I only get ‘key’ as a single response and I am unaware of where to begin debugging this. I saw only one previous post seemingly with the same error However there also doesn’t appear to be any resolution in that post.I’d love any help from here. Also, what’s the best way to inspect what is Zapier trying to send to my server, this also does not seem very clear.Thank you.

Zap works perfectly except not delivering dynamic field data to server when testing action

Please remember that this is a public forum and to remove any sensitive information prior to posting.I created a new Action for the first time using dynamic fields. Testing that and my Zap appears to be working perfectly, right up to the point where some of the data fields are not being delivered to the server.I am using a webhook as the trigger, and test data is being delivered correctly to the trigger test.My action captures that data, all fields are mapped properly, as you can see in the attached picture. But then when I test the action and look at the data delivered to the server, some of the fields are missing.The missing data comes from dynamic fields, so I assume that's my problem, but the action shows all of the expected key/value fields properly. How can it display all of that properly, but then not deliver the data to the server? I’m not sure where to look for the problem since the tests all show the pro

What is the "z" variable?

What is the z variable that is injected into many of the CLI-applications’ methods?  For example: https://github.com/zapier/zapier-platform-example-app-session-auth/blob/16ec7a76bcd51f9a6100cde74a31e3ca2a83c58b/authentication.js#L19.Is there any documentation? In particular, I’d like to know if the z.request method supports POSTing a SSL certificate and key.
