I need to create a Google Chat Space Task via a Zapier API or trigger.

Is that possible?

Hi @Roy Penn

Available Google Chat Zap app triggers/actions: https://zapier.com/apps/google-chat/integrations#triggers-and-actions

You will have to explore using the Google Chat API: https://developers.google.com/workspace/chat/api/reference/rest

Creating a task within Google Chat Space is a powerful way to streamline communication and task management within teams. As part of Google Workspace, Google Chat offers seamless integration with other tools like Google Tasks, Google Calendar, and Gmail, allowing users to create and assign tasks without leaving the conversation.

To create a task in a Google Chat Space, go to the space where your team is collaborating. Hover over a message or click the three-dot menu, then select “Add to Tasks” or “Create task.” You can set a title, description, due date, and assign it to specific members within your workspace. These tasks will appear in your Google Tasks list and can also be viewed on Google Calendar, making it easy to stay on top of your work.

One of the standout features of Google Chat Space is its focus on chat-based productivity. You can tag team members using @mentions, keeping them notified about task updates or new assignments. This enhances collaboration and reduces the need for external task management apps.

The ability to manage to-dos directly within chat threads helps teams act quickly and remain focused. For companies using Google Workspace, Google Chat is a convenient and scalable collaboration tool that supports everything from quick updates to full project coordination.

In short, if you're looking for a clean, integrated way to manage team work, Google Chat Space task creation is a smart move for any modern, remote-friendly workflow.
