Delaying a Zap until a specific time of day

Let's say that you have a Zap with any trigger, but you don't want the actions of the Zap to continue until a specific time of day. Perhaps you have an SMS service and you want to send the first message at 12pm after someone signs up, or maybe you want to gather all your new leads that come in throughout the day and send them to yourself at 7am every day. You can't do this with just one Delay step as 'Delay until' requires a specific date as well as time. So - taking the last example - you need one delay for if it's before 7am (to continue the Zap today at 7am) and one if it's after (to continue the Zap tomorrow at 7am). Thankfully you can do this pretty easily using the Formatter by Zapier app and a couple of paths. After the trigger step, add the Formatter step. Choose to work with Date/Time and then select the Format option. In the 'Input' field type: {{zap_meta_human_now}} Whenever you type that in a Zap, it creates a timestamp of whatever date and time it was when the action runs.

Shared Drives - Templates, Copies, and Folder Creation

The following is my problem and how I anticipate getting around it. My trigger is Airtable, and my integration is with Google Docs and Google Drive. I want to do the following: Make a folder in a shared drive Create a document in that folder based upon a template that lives in my shared drive In a zap later on, make a copy of this file and place it in that same folder I cannot do steps 2 and 3 here, as it seems like you cannot retrieve a file from a shared drive. I could change step 2 to: Create a document in that folder based upon a template that lives in my personal drive. However, step 3 does require that file being copied is in a personal drive, not a shared drive. So here is what I’m going to do instead. Make a folder in my personal drive Shortcut that folder into the location I want in the shared drive All steps of the zap will now act within that folder, which is in the personal drive. For context, the google account I will be using is the admin@ account for the organisation, so

Insert a new row when submitting a Google Form to Google Sheets with a Checkbox

Hi all! I want to share my solution, maybe it will be useful to someone. This post was inspired by this question: https://community.zapier.com/how-do-i-3/adding-a-checkbox-to-a-google-sheet-2059. There are published solutions there, but maybe someone like me will not want to use "auxiliary" Tabs or do manual manipulations to manage checkboxes. Our goal: 1. When a new response is received from a Google Form, insert a new row into the Google Sheet2. It should be noted that some fields in the form are checkboxes. Form field: Google Form Sheet content: Google Sheet Problems we solve: 1. By default, the "Create Spreadsheet Row" event will create a new row AFTER all rows that have a checkbox (even if they are not set to True) 2. By default, this event will write text values to cells with checkboxes, and will not set a new checkbox (which is unexpected behavior for us) Example: New row was appended to the end of the Sheet, Checkboxes not set :( Solution: Our final Zap looks something like thi

Deleting files in Google Drive solution

I use Google Slides and a Google Drive folder on a free Google account to create “course completion certificates” for people who complete training. My zap also emails the certificate and saves it into my database. Since I have limited storage space on the free account and it’s already stored in my database, I don’t want the old certificates just hanging out taking up space. I was looking to make a zap that would delete the certificates or move them to the trash folder. As I was trying to set this up, I learned that it’s not possible using Zapier. I looked on the forum and found a closed thread called “Deleting files in Google Drive” posted by @Martinewski that had some back and forth with @TheDavidJohnson @jesse @john_fohrman @alex but there was no real solution there. I’ve just recently started tinkering with Google Scripts and I’ve found a solution to the problem. Tagging Notion, or other Platform users in Discord

For Notion Users* After spending about 11 hours setting up Notion, Zapier and my Discord integration with my team, I finally think I have a solid answer! It requires a few steps, but I've manage to tag/ping my team members through Zapier, on Discord. First steps first, we'll have to start with Notion, and set up a list of team members. I used the "Multi-select" property to populate with my teams names. You'll only have to type in the first part of their Discord name here, not the #, or @. In my case I had Lentille NU for myself. After I set up my team, I went over to Zapier to set up my actions. Once the Notion database was updated, I could follow by finding my user tagged on Notion with a Discord "Find User" option. There is a delay prior to this, besides the point... Once I found my user, I managed to find their user ID. This is where I finally struck luck! Now we can use Zapier tagging options, eg <@12345690000>, or in my case <@ "User ID" > from the Find user function. This with th

Zapier integration with Google Analytics 4 (GA4)

Sunset date for Universal Analytics is quickly approaching and I don’t see a native integration in GA4 as yet. Supposedly, it’s still work in progress, but this isn’t leaving much time to get things reconfigured. I created a workaround using a “Custom Request” webhook if anyone is interested. Introducing a new app on Zapier, Vybit: the information is in the sound!

Hi All, I recently launched a new integration app on Zapier. Vybit sends distinct, custom sound notifications that you create by choosing from thousands of possible sounds (from freesound.org). The idea is that the specific notification sound itself tells you exactly what Zap trigger fired (and if making the effort to grab and look at your device for the notification details is warranted). Vybit is free and it also works with anything that has outbound webhooks. Please check it out including the Zap Templates, I think you will find it super useful! Workaround to Retrieve Trello Cards by ID Using the Update Card action

Hi everyone, We have an application that stores Trello card IDs in Airtable and I was having a hard time creating an automation in Zapier because there's no native way of getting the card by its ID (only to search by card name, which is not useful in our particular case as card names might change). Since I couldn't find a solution in other posts, I decided to share how we did it. You can get a card by its ID using an “Update Card” action (instead of “Find Card”). On the Card field pass the ID and leave all the other fields blank (so no fields are actually “updated”). This allows you to use the card from this step in further steps of the Zap. Hope it helps.
