Zapier platform problem: Cannot make static dropdown with key value pairs

I'm building a connection on the Zapier platform, and I am trying to make a static dropdown with key-value pairs as per https://platform.zapier.com/docs/input-designer#keyvalue. It is not working1. The simple example of ["one", "two","three"] does work, but the key-value pair example on that page does not work, even without the suspicious backticks. This is the example: [ '{ “sample”: “1”, “value”: “1”, “label”: “Pork” }, { “sample”: “2”, “value”: “2”, “label”: “Fish” } ]`2. I'm not sure if the "sample" in the example is required and what purpose it serves.Thanks in advance!Charles

How to disable a Zap integration from the client side?

I have created a Zapier CLI app. Everything is good. But I need to implement a feature that requires to turn off the zap automation of the user. Use case: Creates a Zapier workflow to create MY_CRM to MY_APP   - every time a new contact with a tag “Legend” is created on MY_CRM create a new entry on MY_APP   - when creating this workflow, user is asked to tell what “Folder” will be the new entry placed inside MY_APP. This is done using zapier dropdown(values taken from MY_APP). User deleted the “Folder” on MY_APP. A new contact with a tag “Legend” is created on MY_CRM. Zapier calls a webhook to create a new entry on “MY_APP” inside the deleted folder. This will throw an error. I want to handle it in a way that when an error is thrown on MY_APP, it creates a request to zapier to disable the automation. Because this automation will keep on failing because the folder is already deleted. Is there a Zapier endpoint I can call to disable this user automation?

Is there a way to handle line-item data in a Search Action?

I have a made a Search action on the Zapier Platform UI that sends a Post request for Payroll Period IDs to my application. The application holds this data as an array of line items containing the id, the technician name, and other pertinent information.Originally it would only return the first line item rather than the entire array. I was able to fix this (as pictured) by reformatting the data coming in as an array. Unfortunately, when I use the Search function in a zap, it still only returns the first value that it finds.My goal is to ultimately be able to Send a Post request to this API once a week on Tuesday and retrieve all of the Payroll Ids to use in an additional step. The additional step, however, presents data in the same way so it will run into the same exact problem.I am not sure if I am approaching this problem wrong, or if there is something that I could do to reformat the data coming in to work better with Zapier.All the best,Jacob

Update input fields programmatically

Hello,I'm working with the CLI version of Zapier and I have a question concerning the bundle.inputData.The scenario is as follows:I have a hidden trigger, that fetches a list of campaigns (id, title, token) that creates a dropdown for the the user to select the campaign where new contacts should be created in our app.I have a "contact create", that makes an API call creating new contacts in the selected campaign.The problem:The tokens, that are returned in (1) have a lifetime of one hour, so if they expire I have to fetch new tokens. Unfortunately this hidden trigger is only called once, that is when the user creates a new zap and selects the destination campaign.It it somehow possible to call that trigger from within my "contact create", so that I can update those tokens, if they are expired?Kind regards,Marko

Why is my api request retrieving an array successfully in the developer but it is not in Zapier?

I built out a Search api request in the Zapier Developer and was able to successfully return an array.When I built a zap using this information it returned the same data, but gave an error saying that the data was returned as an object rather than an array. I have attached photos of both the Developer Workspace and the zap error code.One thing to note is that in the developer I am not getting any logs in the bundle, http, or console sections of the Test Your API Request section.

Zapier webhook not working????

Hi there i have pretty much copied this video to the letter https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AIbSEa6KqYI but however i am getting this error “The app returned “ValidationError: Validation Failure”. This usually happens when your Zap is missing a required field or a field value isn’t in a recognized format.”i have followed the video to the letter and for no apparent reason i can see his is working and mine isnt.has any one any idea why this is happening

Custom Quickbooks App

I am trying to create an Update Bill integration for our Quickbooks account since this is not included in the base Quickbooks app. I am running into issues when attempting to update line items in the bill. My main question is how does updating line items work? I created my app and have attempted to map fields from the trigger (New Bill) but when I map the existing line items to the app I have created, it doesn't look as what I would expect. For example, I would normally expect to see the array Line look like [{lineid, amount, billablestatus, markup},{lineid2, amount2, billablestatus2,markup2}...etc.] but it looks more like [{lineid,lineid2},{amount,amount2}...] which isn't correct. How do I get the line items to function like the first one? i.e. grouping the id with the amount, billablestatus, and markup?I have looked at all of the documentation and am still confused.

Setting Up a Testing Environment

When we get new requests for Zaps, I want to set up a Zap pointing to my test server before I create a Zap pointing to production. I do this by having two versions of my Zapier integrations (1.0.0 pointing to testing and 1.1.0 pointing to production). The problem is that users can see the 1.0.0 integrations that point to the test server. Furthermore, when I finish testing on 1.0.0, I have to essentially recreate the integrations on 1.1.0 which opens the door to mistyping something.Any tips or tricks that would allow me to create a test environment that would hide any integrations in development and promote my test environment to another version?

How can I see some app version on dashbord

Can I somehow see app version which used for making zaps. Since users migration process could take a while - we need provide clients ability to see if they run the latest version of our app or yet previous one. It is quite important for closing issues and - reporting new ones if any.Thanks!Vasyl

Hello,I am creating an app that populates dynamic fields based on user's selection in a dropdown menu.When I am creating and test Zap, it doesn't seem to send the data from dynamic fields to API.How may I include dynamic fields in API call? Fields can be pretty random so I cannot hardcode it.

Input field problem with children fields

Hi there,I have a problem with children fields output in create action event. In our system we have one field which is an object with three values so I have decided to use children for this. But when I want to add this field to request body I will get something strange from bundle.inputData. The 1st screenshot is log when input fields are created 2nd is UI of that field and 3rd is log from bundle.inputData. currency_id field and base_value should be pushed in that cf_multiple)currencies array and as you can see base_value is there. but the currency_id is not. Can somebody help me with this strange behavior? Currency_id field is dynamic dropdown. Can this be a problem?

Fetching whole input payload in my App's Action

Hello,I am looking forward to build my first Zapier app which will take input from any other app on Zapier and save the input to FireBase (FireStore) via API I will build.In the UI, I don't see a way to fetch the whole input (without field/data mappings) and send to my API.My question is that is there a way (in UI or CLI) to fetch the whole input payload (with all fields) and send that whole payload to my API as JSON?Thank you.

Have you been asked for APK of your app?

Hey guys - wondering if you can help. We have a new app in Zapier, it allows you to trigger your Zaps with NFC Tags. We've had a bunch of users (some of them you!) try it out, and it's looking/feeling good. Question is - we're currently going through the Zapier approval process to go public and it's also going seemingly well (Zapier has been in touch), but it's taking a while, and now this morning we've just been asked to send Zapier an APK of our app. Anyone got a clue as to why Zapier would ask for that? The app is free and downloadable on Android/iPhone. Seems a little out of the ordinary but perhaps I'm missing something. Any thoughts? Thanks in advance,Gem

Mindbody Private App

I'm stepping over my line of experience as I do regularly...Trying to build a private app for Mindbody Online (https://developers.mindbodyonline.com/PublicDocumentation/V6#authentication) but the authentication is killing me.Somebody told me he's also done it with Session Auth, but I'm fouling that up somehow. "Got a non-object result" error when testing a Zap

We are building our first app integration with Dynamic Fields, but are getting a "Got a non-object result" error message when testing the Zap that uses the integration...The app Action integration is set up like this...Notice that the "results" we return are the response.headers as a JSON String (see 2nd image below). That's because if we parse the response.headers first, when we test the below Zapier complains that we did not return a string (see 1st image below).We get an "[object Object]" is not a String ERROR if we parse the headers and return an OBJECT... We return a STRING... (the response.headers as JSON), we get no error on this step. BUT... in the Zap shown at the top of this post we get the "Got a non-object response' error.Thus one step requires us to return a STRING, then the next step demands an OBJECT.What are we conceptually missing? What are we doing wrong? What do we need to do do get this working?Thanks for your help!

How to handle Zapier authentiation failure propertly?

I'm trying to display a friendly message on the authentication failure prompt in Zapier. Throwing an Error or HaltedError is always showing the stack trace and the console logs which I'd like to get rid of. Is there a way to only display a custom message we specify?

Action output

Hello,I'm seeing a warning about missing action sample output for one of the actions I've created. I read in docs that actions should have some output data, however in this case, backend API doesn't return any data, so I'm wondering what to do about warning. Adding some dummy output doesn't seem right (as is adding piece of input data)... Thank you!
