Fortunately, Zapier offers several methods to generate UUIDs directly within your Zaps. Below, I'll walk you through three effective ways to achieve this: 1. Using ChatGPT to Generate a UUID You can leverage the ChatGPT integration in Zapier to generate a new UUID every time the Zap runs. This method is straightforward and doesn't require coding. How to Set It Up:Add a "ChatGPT" action step in your Zap. Hi friends! 👋 As you might already be aware, currently the Notion app on Zapier is only able to access the page properties and not the page content. So if you’ve been wanting to access page content from Notion for a database item or page in a Zap then you’ll want to give the following workaround I’ve discovered a try!What’s the workaround? That’s nice, but what’s a “block object” got to do with page content I hear you say? Well, a block object represents a chunk of content in Notion like headings, paragraphs, bulleted list items, embedded images etc. - you know, things that are contained in the page content. You might have come across this before, or you're checking out this post because of the following error message:"This XYZ step didn’t run because it relied on an earlier step or filter that didn’t work."Here’s what it looks like:Step dependency errorWhy is this happening?Well, an action step often depends on a field from a previous step (see also field mapping). If that previous step fails, the dependent action step gets skipped because it needed information from the failed step. This is usually helpful, as it prevents errors.If this happened due to a Filter by Zapier step, it means the conditions weren’t met. If you’ve been tinkering with the OpenAI Zapier integration, you may have come across the ‘Search embeddings’ action. This article covers the fundamentals of what embeddings are in AI and explains how to set up an OpenAI Search Embedding step in your Zap. In simple terms, embedding in AI compares how similar two (or more) pieces of data are to each other. For example, the word “dog” and “wolf” would both be closely related to the word “canine”, but if the embedding we use is “pet” then dog will be a much closer match. Embedding is commonly used in apps to do things like compare your search question to useful answers or show you products that might be relevant to other things you’ve looked at.
