I discovered a new feature today (to me anyway) - the ability to export a json file of your zap set-up. To get there click on new info button next to zap title: This will take you to the following page:     I remember there was a way to export this json previously but it was not so front-and-center.  Now that more people will likely be exporting this file can anybody provide a mapping of the json elements with which apps are used etc? (at the moment the json is all very cryptic). If so, it may be possible to do build a zap feeding this data into a diagramming app like Lucid Charts with a pre-built template and have a cool visual flow diagram of every zap

Hi Zapier Community,As stated in the title, I’m looking to get an action to trigger after a year. To be accurate, I set up a learning quiz using LearnDash and I’m looking for a way to send an email a year after it gets successfully completed. Because LearnDash works well with Zapier, it would be convenient to find a way to solve my problem using it.Upon reading the documentation from this article, I understand that a delay can only be scheduled for up to a month in Zapier and I should look for another way to do what I want.However, if someone has an idea on how to bypass this or can recommend an alternative solution I would be grateful to hear it.

How do you find a phone number or a username in the middle of a string? Sometimes you can use the Formatter Split text function, if the item will always be in the same place, but it’s not always that straight forward. That’s where the Extract Pattern function for the Formatter app comes in. You can find the Extract Pattern transform under the ‘Text’ functions for the Formatter. What it allows you to do is to find and extract patterns in text. The Extract Pattern function uses Regex to find the text that you need. Regex is short for ‘regular expression’ and it basically means that you’re giving a sample format for the step to find. I work at a computer all day - I slouch, I slump, I droop, and I stoop. It’s not long before those cricks add up that only a good stretch can alleviate. I know myself, though - if I have a reminder to stretch at the same time every day, I’ll soon ignore it. So, I set up a Zap to remind me to stretch at RANDOM times of the day so I never know when it’s coming! It’s a lot harder to ignore surprises! This one’s an easy set up. It uses Schedule by Zapier as the daily trigger. Then, there’s a first Formatter step. It uses a pick list to randomize the time of the day - I’ve set it to select a random time between 9 AM and 5 PM. Next, it uses a Delay step to delay the Zap so you’re only notified at the correct time of day.  It has one more Formatter pick list to randomly select from a list of exercise links that I found online. Lastly, it sends me a Slack message that includes the exercise links. You can check it out

So, the need that we heard about was for Covid 19 screening forms for employees and visitors to US places of business. Every morning at 6 am the plan was to send out the forms to all employees who were on the list. They had to complete the form and if they were high risk based on answers then HR is notified. If they are low risk, they got a pass to show up.  Solution: Zapier’s new schedule function as a Zap runs each morning at 6am. This Zap begins a workflow for the HR person to update the spreadsheet and click to run a google script! The Challenge "I want zap that will make a Trello card change date monthly when I have done a task. Like a calendar reminder in emails that comes up every month on the same day every month"   What this user wanted was to use Trello like a monthly reminder, without having to keep changing due dates. So the reminder on the 26th of the month would let her know it was due, then be changed automatically to the 26th of next month. She didn't even want the Trigger to be marking that card as complete. Just change it to the subsequent month, recurring. The Solution Trello has a Trigger called New Notification. When you are assigned a card or are subscribed to it, Trello gives you a notification 24 hours before that card is due. So if something is due on August 26th, Trello will tell you on August 25th. That triggers the Zap. We also want to add a filter to make sure the notification is one telling you

Hey I’ve come up with a few different ways of building line items (e.g. for an invoice) in Google Sheets via Zapier, and I’m sure there are people out there who have done this better than me. Does anyone have any best practices here? If I have a non-standard number of line items, and I’m using line item support to build the invoice from a template in Google Docs what’s the best way you’ve found to do this?

It would be very useful if SendGrid integration allowed for CC and/or BCC fields. Especially since SendGrid is sun setting feature to automatically BCC an email by default.

If you're updating a Google Calendar event, any fields that you fill in the Zap editor will overwrite the existing information in the event. Although this is generally what you want to happen when you update something, sometimes you might want to add to a field, rather than overwrite it. A good example is if you want to add attendees to an event in Google Calendar. If you set up your Zap so that it only has the new Attendee/s (see below for an example), then any existing Attendees will be removed!To append to the list of Attendees (to add to it, rather than change it), you need to include both the original Attendees and your new Attendee in the Update Event step. Hey, Justin here from the Zapier blog. I thought I’d let you know that you can use Zapier to bring back Twitter’s SMS notifications, if you want to.   I’d also like to ask for some help. I try to keep track of features that companies drop to see if there’s some way to use Zapier to bring them back, and this was a great little use case. Can you guys think of any more disappearing features? Maybe we can come up with more ideas like this together.

Are you pulling phone number data in through a Zapier trigger and trying to format it before passing it into your Zapier action?   I work at a scheduling company and was trying to solve this problem because people use all sorts of characters, like hyphens, periods, parenthesis, spaces, and so forth. To make sure all phone numbers are formatted the same way, we wrote a zap sequence that will work as an intermediary step between any two approved Zapier apps.    The python-regex portion of this solution will strip out all the unwanted characters so that only a string of numbers remains. This solution works best if you are formatting phone numbers for a single country. So I made a Zap that reminds me every day at 3pm to stretch. I get a Slack message encouraging me to stretch, and I’ve added a 10-minute yoga video.   I’m wondering if folks have ideas for how I can make this better! For instance, I was thinking about integrating my calendar somehow. I was also thinking about using Google Sheets to create a list of short Yoga videos, and have them attach to the Zap randomly.
