We've got good news! It's now possible to use shared inboxes and calendars with Microsoft Outlook and Office 365!First, if you already have an account connected to Zapier, I would recommend that you reconnect it, to ensure your Zap can pick up on the new feature. Triggers  You can use any inbox you have "read" access to, by typing in the address of the shared inbox.  All calendars you have "read" access for should appear in the "Calendar" dropdown menu. Actions Specify an inbox in the "From" address, to send emails from that address.  All calendars you have "write" access for should appear in the "Calendar" dropdown menu. Troubleshooting for shared inboxesIf you get an error (usually a 404 error) when trying to use the inbox-related fields, make sure the address was typed correctly and that you have proper access to that inbox. You can also try to reconnect the account.

A lot of people have been waiting for this day! The Airtable app on Zapier now supports creating records using line items.If you know, you know.If you don’t know, here are a few ways this could be used:Your Trigger App Has Line ItemsSome apps will include items in their trigger steps. Accounting and eCommerce apps often include this option.Examples include: WooCommerce, QuickBooks, Webhooks by Zapier. You can now use Create Records (With Line Item Support) to create multiple Airtable records.Your Search Step Returns Line ItemsSometimes you’ll use a search step and it will return data as line items. This could be orders, with multiple items as part of that order. In the past, you would have had to use Looping by Zapier to process those. But now you can use Create Records (With Line Item Support).You’re Using a Webhooks Step That Returns Line ItemsIf you’re a bit more advanced, you might be connecting to an app’s API directly using Webhooks by Zapier. Some of those APIs will return the information as line items, and you often can’t change that behaviour at all.Enter Create Records (With Line Item Support)!You’re Creating Line Items in the ZapIn some cases, you might be using Formatter by Zapier to create your own line items. It can often make later steps more efficient, but before the introduction of Create Records (With Line Item Support) you would have had to use Looping by Zapier.Those days are gone!Wrapping UpIf you’ve got some use cases in mind, we’d love to hear them! Just a quick FYI post :)Our integrations team is launching a new Google Forms app in January of 2022, but because it's built on a beta Google Forms API, we're launching with both apps alongside each other At launch:The Beta app works with all forms without the need to set up a Google Sheets spreadsheet to collect responses first. Instant triggers instead of polling Does not yet support “Create Response” “Lookup Response” or “Find or Create Response.” If this is needed, use the previous version. Eventually, when the Beta app becomes the only app, all Zap workflows using the previous version will be automatically migrated to the newest app. NOTE: As a Zapier user, you don’t need to actually do anything. Since Zapier first launched more than 10 years ago, we've seen you use automation to accomplish incredible things. You've created ongoing workflows that run entire projects, functions, and businesses in the background. But there's always been a piece missing: Until now, Zapier could only take action on data added to an app after your Zap was activated. Today, that changes. [We're opening up a new beta experience called Transfer](zapier.com/transfer), a simple way to move data between apps, in batches, no matter what time period it's from.  Transfer gives you complete, on-demand control over your app data. You can use it to:Manage large-scale data projects, where you're moving hundreds of records from one app to another. For example, you might use Transfer to move all your customers from an eCommerce platform to a new email marketing app, so you can manage customers in both places.  Backfill a new Zap with critical data. If you built a Zap that logs new leads in a sales tool, but activated it halfway through your lead-generation campaign, Transfer can grab those missing leads. Move data on-demand for ongoing projects. Transfer gives you a full view of all the data in your apps, and you can pick-and-choose what you want to move. That means it's ideal for automation where you need a little more control over what moves, when, like a project management process.How to get startedTransfer is available today on all Zapier plans. It's in beta, so expect some changes over the next few months. 👋 Hi there! I wanted to take a second to let you know that we’ve changed how we present updates/announcements in the Community. They used to appear under the Forum section, much like these areas currently do: It worked fine, but the Community platform we use actually has a separate functionality that is built specifically for updates. It has a few advantages, compared to using a forum category:1) The updates always appear in chronological order, with the most recent one at the top. The forum defaults to posts with the most recent activity, like this: 2) We can add updates to specific categories, which you can then easily filter by: 3) Individual posts on the Updates page have a nice large featured image, and display the category, making it easy to scan quickly in order to see what might interest you: 4) The Updates page itself is much more customizable than forum categories are, including the sidebar. We can things like this to the page, if we choose to :) We now also have a link directly to the Updates page, in our main menu: AND we updated our featured images to be a bit more descriptive, rather than just saying “What’s New”: We hope to provide more Community-related updates as well (like this one), letting you know what’s going on right here in the Zapier Community!

Getting started with Zapier can be tough. Even when you’re excited about automation, it can be hard to think of where to start and what workflows to automate.Today we’re rolling out a new version of the Zapier Chrome extension that provides suggestions of the most common ways people use Zapier to automate the apps they use every day. For example, if you go to Shopify and open the Chrome extension you can see how others have automated their eCommerce store. Head over to Google Sheets, Mailchimp, Salesforce, or any other app and see suggestions for those apps too. How to get startedInstall the Zapier Chrome extension (and pin it for easy access) Log in or sign up if you’re not already logged in Navigate to an app that you use every day Open the extension and click on the ‘Suggestions’ tab Click on any of the suggestions that interest you and it’ll show you how to set up the automationIf you don’t see suggestions for the app that you’re interested in, leave a comment below and we’ll look into it. Hope this helps you find more ways to save time! Hey there! Janine from the blog team here. We just published an update to our detailed guide on line items. If you’ve ever wondered what line items are, what they do, and how to use them in Zapier, this is for you!Here’s a brief excerpt from the intro: If you’ve ever received a receipt for a purchase, or filled out an invoice, you’ve already seen them: A line that includes each product’s name, price, or quantity, repeated for every product.In Zapier, the definition of "line items" is extended to mean "a group of similar things, with information about each of them". If you're a developer, calling line items an "array of objects" wouldn't be far off.This could look like various expenses on an invoice from Xero or QuickBooks Online, all the items purchased through an eCommerce platform like WooCommerce, or rows in an Excel spreadsheet, or even a list of the dogs you see outside. In each case, the items all have similarities with each other, but slightly different values between them. When a Zap receives those values, it groups them together into line items for easy use later on. Sound useful? Find yourself constantly switching tabs and copy-pasting data back and forth? Our latest improvement to the Zapier Chrome extension has a new action that can help you reduce context switching and stay in the zone.With this new action, called Reply to Chrome, you can run a Zap from the Chrome extension and display the results—all without switching tabs.Below are a few examples and shared Zap workflows to get you started.Here’s an example of a Zap that posts to Twitter then displays a link to the Tweet itself (click here to try it for yourself):  Here’s an example of a Zap that runs from the Chrome extension, looks up a row in Google Sheets, then displays the results in the extension (try it for yourself). The new action, called “Reply to Chrome”, will display right under the Zap in the Chrome extension. Hey y’all!We recently released a new update that I want yall to check out! The Task Usage page in Zap History now shows a total of Zap workflows used and Tasks used. This will allow users to see a rollup of what is happening with their Zap workflows at a glance.(view larger) Here are some notable features of this rollup:You can search for Task Usage as far back as May 2020. If you don’t have any filters, it displays total Task Usage on account for the current billing period. You can filter by date, folder, app, user on Team and Companies accounts, groups on Company accounts, and specific Zap workflows. This counts Task usage for Zap runs that are deleted. This uses a new backend system that makes the data much more accurate than before, bringing it closer to your accounts billing.There are two caveats:If a Zap is deleted, it wont show the usage for these Zap workflows. If the Zap is in a members Private folder (Team and Company accounts), it will not be displayed here.We are looking to make more improvements and additions to helping users understand the usage of their accounts. That was incredibly tedious and totally counter to our mission to democratize automation.So today we’re introducing a new primitive we hope will make it easier to share those actions and employ an “update once, use everywhere” sort of workflow. We call it “Sub-Zap by Zapier”. You can start using it today! You can export a CSV of Zap Runs (does not include task usage data) or for Enterprise plans there is an option to download CSV reports of Zap runs, task usage, error rates etc. See Review your account usage in the analytics dashboard for more information. Hi everyone, I’m a product manager at Zapier and I just wanted to announce a small feature we’re now beta testing to make it easier to keep tabs on what your Zap workflows are doing. “Create Zap Report” is a new action in the Zapier Manager app that can generate a report of a given Zap’s activity for the last seven days:When it runs, the action will return the information about the Zap and summary data like: Successful runs: The number of times the Zap ran without an error Times triggered: The number of times the Zap triggered (whether or not it completed successfully) Tasks used: The total number of tasks used by the Zap CSV (file and URL): A CSV file with the raw data for each step (can later be used in fields that accept files, like an email attachment), and a URL to that same CSV Start time: The beginning of the reporting period End time: The end of the reporting period All data is for the seven days prior to this Zap running.To try this out, just use this Zap Template which uses Schedule to run every week on 9am on Monday and Email by Zapier to send an email with a pre-formatted message that looks like this: You can customize the day of the week and time you want your Zap to run, choose the Zap you want to report on, and the body of the email and who to send it to. Maybe you want to send your boss a weekly report of how many leads came in based on the number of successful runs:  You could even replace the Email step with a later action of your choice, like adding the data to a Google Sheet or whatever else you want! By monitoring the Zap workflows that power your business you can generate high-level insights into how things are going, keep your team in the loop, and more.
