Hi,

I have a WordPress blog using Neptune - Theme for Food Recipe Bloggers & Chefs (https://themeforest.net/item/neptune-theme-for-food-recipe-bloggers-chefs/12915290) and I would like to automatically post on my Facebook page a post each time I publish on my blog a new recipe.

I have already managed to connect my WordPress blog to Zapier. I am building my zap but in the 1st section New Post on WordPress, I can’t find the right post type that matches my recipe page.

You’re welcome @recetteitalienne. Yes, I quite agree! Being able to use custom posts would be so useful many folks wanting to use Zapier with WordPress. Fingers crossed it will be resolved soon! 🤞

Hi, thanks for following up!

Its cool that you have a bug, because this is a must have ! hope is going to be solved quickly

Hi @recetteitalienne, thanks for following up here! 👋

Sorry to hear you weren’t able to get it working by using the custom value option to select the post type. I’m glad to hear you were able to find an alternative solution, even if it doesn’t involve Zapier.

I’ve been looking into this and found we’ve got a bug reported where custom types aren’t being loaded for the New Post (WordPress) trigger. I’ve gone ahead and added you to the list of affected users so we can notify you once that’s been resolved. Just in case you wish to explore that workflow with Zapier again at a later date. 🙂

LOL

what you asked doesn’t work : “ type the custom value in the “Enter text or insert data...” field while on the “Custom” tab”

I found a tool that support wordpress custom post, which Zapier doesn’t

Hey there, @recetteitalienne - ah, sorry to hear that didn’t work!

Can you elaborate a bit more on specifically what didn’t work? Are you seeing an errors? Are not able to type into that field? Screenshots of any error messages you’re seeing and where are always helpful.

We definitely want to help but anyone in community won’t have access to your zaps so being as detailed as possible with any visual aids you’re able to provide, and steps you’ve taken thus far not mentioned in the thread, are always super helpful with troubleshooting. 🙂

Thanks so much in advance!

it doesn’t work 😂

Hi @recetteitalienne,

You can type the custom value in the “Enter text or insert data...” field while on the “Custom” tab. Like so:

Hopefully, this helps! 😊

Hi

i cannot type a custom value :

Hi @recetteitalienne,

I apologize for the confusion here.

If that’s the case, maybe you can try typing the custom value of the “Post Type” in the custom tab. Like so:

Could you please give that a try, and see if it’ll use the correct post type.

Please keep us posted! I’m keen on getting this Zap up and running for you.

hi,

that’s not the issue. Did you read the previous message here ?

The issue is that Zap does not support custom type post

Hi @recetteitalienne,

Thanks for letting us know!

Looking at the ticket you’ve previously opened to our Support team. It seems like you’re having issues with the incorrect URL that is getting passed through Facebook is that correct? And one of our Support Specialist suggested the Formatter>Replace function.

If you want to use a specific URL to your Facebook post. I would suggest pasting the URL itself in the “Link URL” field in the Facebook action.

Would that work for you? Please let us know, and we’re happy to troubleshoot further.

Thanks! 😊

Hi, not at all. And no progress at all since no replies to my last message 11 days ago… lol

Hi @recetteitalienne,

Just wanted to check in and see if you've managed to resolve the issue yet. If not, could you please provide an update on the progress you've made so far?

Please keep us posted! 😊

Hi, I already scrolled down to the bottom of the post type dropdown list and did not find anything…

what should I do

Hi @recetteitalienne!

It looks like you there are other post-types you’d only find with your WordPress theme in the list (eg menu-items), so it’s interesting that the recipe page isn’t on there.

Sometimes, a Zap can’t show all of the possible options in a single dropdown, if you scroll to the bottom of the Post Type dropdown list, you should see a button that says ‘Load more’. Try clicking that to see if it will bring in more page types.

Could I also double-check that the WordPress theme defines recipe pages as a ‘recipe page’ and isn’t another name for them?

I hope that's clear, please let us know if you have any questions!
