The "Create Company Update" action doesn't include the image anymore.

Wanted to check did anything recently change in how zapier or Linkedin Company page posts work?

Previously our images appeared as a post image, but now they appear more like a link Preview - as far as I know nothing has changed on our end.

Previously images looked like this on our feed (as a full image):

https://cln.sh/rqRznzdp

Now they look like this (more like a preview):

https://cln.sh/FZ3ShtGl

Here is our Zap set up.

Also of note, my account is linked to Zapier for linkedin. When I view the post - oddly it shows the full image. But everyone else sees it as the latter, preview image. 🤷

Any suggestions on how to address this @ken.a ?

Hi @daverad,

I have moved your reply to a new topic. I hope you don’t mind!

Before we dig deeper into this, could you please confirm if the mapped data in the "Preview - Thumbnail Image" field is a direct URL to the image? To check, you can simply paste the URL in your web browser and check if the image opens immediately and doesn’t require any logins. If it does, then it's a direct URL.

Hi @daverad,

Thanks for the update here.

I did some digging into this, and it seems like you’re running into a known bug with the LinkedIn app when using the “Create Company Update” action. Our team is aware of the issue and is working on a fix. I've added your email address as another affected user. That does a few things:

  • Bring this to the attention of the integration developers
  • Help track and prioritize fixes
  • Allows us to notify you via email if/when this is fixed

Unfortunately, I do not have an ETA, but I’ve added you to the list of users affected by this issue so we can let you know as soon as we have any updates.

I appreciate your patience and understanding.

@ken.a I’d appreciate also being added to the email list. Any update on timescales to resolve this?

Hi @AdeyWilliams,

I wanted to let you know that I have added you as another affected member to the open bug report. I apologize for the inconvenience this may have caused you. Unfortunately, we are unable to provide a specific timeframe for when the bug will be fixed. However, we will keep you updated via email once the issue has been resolved.

Thank you for your understanding.

I would be interested in a resolution for this as well.

I’m using Wordpress and the app to get a new post from an RSS feed. This doesn’t include the featured image URL, so I would rather with the LinkedIn Company Update it would extract the featured image from the URL (I think it used to do this?)

Thanks for letting us know, @Davo! I’ve just added you to the list of folks being impacted by this issue. While we can’t give any estimates as to when it will be resolved by, we’ll be sure to let you know once it is.

In the latest version of the WordPress app, the New Post trigger now provides the Feature Media URL and all the Media URLs linked to your posts. If you’re not already using the the latest version of the WordPress app you may need to upgrade it and pull in a new test record in order to be able to select those new file fields.

Hope that helps! 🙂
