Question about using GMAIL as a Trigger

I have a question about using GMAIL as a trigger.

 

I am trying to have my inbox listen for emails from Kijiji as a trigger.

 

Here is my scenario:

 

I would like to create an automation that uses a Kijiji reply as a trigger.

 

However there are two scenarios:

 

Scenario 1: Brand New email: Comes in as: Reply to your "xyz ad"

Scenario 2: A reply to your previous reply comes in as: Re: Reply to your "xyz ad".

 

I would like the trigger to only trigger once the first reply comes into the inbox, and not to reply when the secondary email comes in as: RE:

 

I don’t want the subsequent replies to trigger the automation.

 

I have tried all of the search terms to omit the RE: from the trigger, however it always picks up the subject even with the: RE:

Hi @tristonisaac!

You could try adding a filter step to your Zap, to only continue if the subject line does not contain the RE in the text. More info on filters: https://zapier.com/help/create/customize/add-conditions-to-zaps-with-filters
