Zapier doesn't recognize Facebook Groups for sending videos to the Google Drive folder.

I

I am trying to set up a zap which will send new videos from my facebook group into a folder in my google drive.

  • It is connected to the correct facebook account
  • I am an admin in the group in question
  • The zapier app has been added to the group 
  • I’ve allowed all permissions

 

When I go to select a group, it says none are available. 

Bottom right - all results are loaded - no options are available
  • I’ve clicked refresh results in the zap - nothing
  • I’ve refreshed the actual webpage itself - nothing
  • I’ve tried logging out of facebook and zapier, then logging back in to both - nothing
  • I’ve tried deleting the connection from zapier to my facebook, then starting over and reconnection - nothing

Can somebody please help before I lose my mind?

Nevermind, I figured it out…

  1. Go to your FB group and find the post that looks like this from when you added Zapier to the group:

     

  2. Click Manage Settings - complete those steps.

Didn’t realize I had to connect three ways:

  1. Connect Zapier to the FB account through Zapier
  2. Add Zapier to the group
  3. Connect them together using this silly post that I was initially trying to delete

Facebook Groups app removal notice

On April 22, 2024, Zapier’s current Facebook Group app will stop working due to Meta’s announcement of sunsetting the Facebook Group API. As a result, the Facebook Groups Zapier app will no longer be available to use on Zapier from April 22, 2024. 

 

To prepare, here are a few dates to note:

  • Beginning April 22, 2024, you won’t be able to create any new Zaps using the Facebook Group app.
  • Your Zaps using Facebook Groups will stop working on April 22, 2024.
  • You can access Zaps using Facebook Groups with view-only access until May 22, 2024.

View which of your Zaps use Facebook groups.
