We have been using Zapier for about a year now. We are about to launch our new website. Our website host remains the same, and out website’s URL remains the same. I am worry about loosing the connection in Zapier when we launch the new website.

The new website is currently in a dev environment, so the URL is different.

I have two questions:

  1. Will establishing a new connection with the DEV website so I can test the forms mess up my current connection with our current website?
  2. Once our new website goes live, since the URL will be the same, will the connection with Zapier remain? Or do I have to refresh, or reconnect?

When I set up the connection last year I struggled, I finally got it to work thanks to the Zapier community. I am very nervous about loosing the connection that I worked so hard to establish. Any insight/advise will be greatly appreciated

TIA

Hi there @MiryLopez 👋

You should be able to add a new connection to the dev version of your site with the new forms on it for testing purposes without that affecting your existing Zaps. Check out our Connect multiple accounts for the same app guide for details on how to add multiple connections for the same app.

That said, can you tell us a bit more about which apps are involved here - specifically, which form app are your Zaps connected to?

If the dev version of your website has completely new forms that will replace the old forms then you may well need to reconnect the account connections and reselect the forms in your Zaps once your site goes live.

Looking forward to hearing from you!
