4 Days ago Shopify changed something on thier ZAP App or Connection and it is incorreclty pulling in ID values for ID fields.

Examples:

Customer ID - gid://shopify/Customer/9262639186082 should just be 9262639186082

Customer Last Order ID - gid://shopify/Order/7347562938530 should just be 7347562938530

I can run a AI Zapier extraction but not sure if this ahs been nadvised to SHopify or who ever is responsible for the App conneciton. I have version 4.0.2

Hi @aaronish

Just add this Zap step: Formatter > Text > Split

Separator: /

Segment: Last

That is essentially what I have done - I used number extract. I have updated the formatter to your suggestions as it is more robust.

However, the point is, I shouldn’t have to do this for EVERY ID field. There is a problem with the new App.

@aaronish

Best to share that feedback with Zapier Support via a ticket: https://zapier.com/app/get-help

Will do Thanks.

Reported to Zappier Support earlier today:
This is the take away from their response:

… thanks for reaching out and for posting in the community as well! I can see you're experiencing an issue where Shopify is returning full GraphQL IDs (like gid://shopify/Customer/9262639186082) instead of just the numeric values you need.

I've confirmed that this matches an very recent issue reported by some other users as well, so I'll let our engineering team know you've experienced this as well.

In the meantime, the workaround using Formatter Split Text is the best way forward. …

Thanks for the update, @aaronish. 🤗 Really appreciate you following up here to share that information from the Support team about this being due to a bug.

Seems like the workaround you put in place should help to keep things running in the meantime. But please do reach back out if you need any further help at all.

And if anyone comes across this and wants to be notified when that issue gets resolved, just leave a comment here and we’ll make sure you’re added!

Hey folks, just wanted to circle back in here to share that the team have released an update to the Shopify app that has fixed this bug! 🎉

Those Formatter actions should no longer be needed going forward, but to take advantage of the fix you’ll want to make sure that the Zap is using the latest version of the Shopify app

Since it’s been resolved I’ll be closing this topic for new comments. If you’re on the latest version of the app and still experiencing issues please start a new topic in the Community or get in touch with Support directly. In the meantime, happy Zapping! 😁⚡
