JT2023

HI!

My goal is to use zapier to upload my youtube videos to an rss feed that can then be connected to various podcast platforms so people can watch or listen.

Sorry for the newb question.

I set up a zap that triggers when a youtube playlist is updated with a video and then it updates a RSS feed.

I was able to create the feed: https://zapier.com/engine/rss/16193839/svicpodcastfeed

Because I’m a noob, I thought i could just link the feed to google podcasts, but when I do i get this error:

Is that because google podcasts only work for audio and don’t work for video files?

Hi @JT2023

Good question.

Yes, that may be the reason.

It may be due to the URL being a link to a webpage where the YouTube video is embedded, rather than a direct file link.

We’d need to see screenshots with how your Zap steps are configured to have more context.

@JT2023

These are links to a webpage (not to a file) that has a YouTube video as well as other elements on the page.

The URL would need to be a public link to a file.

Even if it was a public direct download link to a video it may not work.

@JT2023

Generally you have to use some sort of scraper to download a YouTube video from a YouTube video url webpage.

You can try the embed URL.

But I still think the file has to be an audio file.
