Question

Repeat "This account connection is expired. You'll need to reconnect the account before continuing error"

I am trying to reconnect my zaps to my Discord server after updating the integration to 2.0 in Zapier. The upgrade was fine but then I am also being prompted with “This account connection is expired. You'll need to reconnect the account before continuing error"

I’ve done this several times and after momentarily disappearing the prompt reappears. I have updated Discord, restarted discord, removed Zapier and then retried the account connection - I note that the integration appears to have been established in Discord but the Zapier error is still being thrown meaning I cannot publish my Zaps.

I also note that there is a 400 error thrown in the console

Hey @deadant,

If deleting the connecting and reconnecting it again also didn’t work, try contacting the Zapier support here- https://zapier.com/app/get-help. Hope it helps!

Hi there @deadant 👋

Were you able to get the connection added successfully?

If not, I’ll share the solution from a similar topic here in case it helps to get you unstuck:

Create a completely new Discord connection instead of reconnecting:

  1. Go to your Connected Accounts page
  2. Find your existing Discord connection and delete it entirely
  3. Create a brand new Discord connection from scratch
  4. Go back to your Zap and update it to use this new connection

Optional - Clean disconnect from Discord's side:
If you want to be thorough, you can also disconnect from Discord's end:

  • In Discord, go to User Settings > Authorized Apps
  • Find Zapier and click "Deauthorize"

This approach bypasses the authentication loop issue entirely by establishing a fresh connection that's fully compatible with Discord. Once you've created the new connection, your Zap should work normally again.

Keep us posted on how you’re getting on, want to make sure this gets sorted!
