Just popping in with a quick (and slightly overdue!) update: the bug has now been fixed! 🎉
Huge thanks for your patience while we got this sorted. If you didn’t catch the email update, here’s what you need to be aware of:
Reddit Integration Now Requires Your Own App Credentials
You’re receiving this update because you requested notifications about changes to Zapier’s Reddit integration.
We’ve resolved the previous authentication issue. To continue using the Reddit integration, you’ll need to create your own Reddit app. Follow these steps:
- Go to the Reddit Apps page.
- Click "Create app" or "Create another app" and fill out the form with:
- Name: Choose any name you want for your app.
- App Type: Choose "web app".
- Redirect URI: Use `https://zapier.com/dashboard/auth/oauth/return/RedditDevAPI/`.
- After creating the app, enter the Client ID shown under your app name when connecting Reddit to Zapier.
Please update your Zaps to the latest version and re-authenticate using your own Reddit app credentials.

I can see that you also reached out to the Support team about this and they discovered that you were running into a bug with the Reddit app where it’s disconnecting frequently. We can’t give any estimate as to when it will be resolved but you’ll definitely get an email notification from us as soon as it’s resolved.
There aren’t any workarounds noted at the moment but I’ll be sure to follow up here if I come across any. If there’s anything else I can help with in the meantime please do let me know.
I am having the same issue too. Everytime I connect and re-connect my account, it suddenly turns into expired and need to reconnect. I am stuck in an endless reconnect loop. Would love to get notified when this is fixed. Hopefully soon! thanks

I started wondering if my Access token was the issue. I attempted revoking both the Zapier/Reddit app and the custom app I had created. Despite various attempts, I couldn’t eliminate the “Expired” error message. Removing the Connection from Zapier and starting a fresh connection didn’t resolve the problem either.
Just confirming that this is also happening, even switching to a new Reddit account didn’t get rid of the “Expired” tag when editing the Zap.

I have not tried that yet. The only thing I tried was opening in incognito mode and signing into reddit again (with same account) since I was not sure if credentials were being cached and causing a issue
Same here - cannot create a new Zap with Reddit. Can’t connect - it just says this connection expired.

I know it was working as of 6 days ago. That was the last time it ran successfully before I started getting email alerts from Zapier that it was failing due to expiration.

Hey, can I get added to the alerts as well? I have a couple zaps that I use pretty frequently that are failing. I have alternatives active, but Zapier tends to work the best.
Glad to see this is getting addressed, I hope it is a quick fix! If I could be added to the alerts for a resolution as well it’d be much appreciated.
