Hello Community,
I am not able to list a single google chat room, though I connected Zapier and my account.
Has anybody managed to post something to Google Chat Spaces?
Is it possible that Zapier actually means Google Hangouts when it talks of “Google Chat”? Hangouts has been officially retired for quite some time now.
If this is a known issue, is it in the works?

I’m so pleased to hear you were able to get it sorted. Thanks so much for flagging this! I had a look and I couldn’t see any documentation available for the Google Chat app either so I’ve put in a request for some documentation for the Google Chat app to be added to our help center.

Thanks, but that wasn't exactly what I asked for.
There's no help section for the Google Chat integration (or it links to itself?) but we managed to find out you have to install the Zapier App within each chat space and allow zaps for the user creating the zaps there to make the chosen chat spaces show up in the zap editor. That's not well documented or it's hidden somewhere. So our start with Zapier was anything but intuitive and the appearance of the word "hangouts" was even more confusing.
So it works for us now and is resolved, but the documentation should be updated.

Thanks for that insight. I found this thread while trying to resolve the same issue. The Space wasn’t showing as an option in the Zapier dropdown. But now it does, after adding the Bot to the Space. :)
They should mention that in the settings of that action step.
