I'm trying to create a new Zapier trigger on the Zapier developer platform, and when I go to connect my account, I'm greeted with this error:

authentication failed: An error occurred (InvalidParameterValueException) when calling the CreateFunction operation: Lambda was unable to configure access to your environment variables, because you have reached the grant limit of your KMS key or execution role. Please check your KMS key settings and/or use a different Lambda execution role. To learn more, please go to the KMS developer Guide. KMS Exception: LimitExceededException KMS Message: Keys only support 50000 grants in this region. This key already has 50040 grants.

Make sure you click "Allow" or "Accept" on the permission popup
Double check your Account has the correct permissions
Check out our help docs for more information

I have tried using an old trigger and also doing the “connect account” but greeted with the same error.

Hi @intelagent

Check the Zapier Status page for incidents from today (June 2, 2026) related to Code: https://status.zapier.com/

Hey there @intelagent! That error does seem like it may have been related to the recent Code by Zapier incident Troy mentioned. That's since been resolved so wanted to check if you’re still seeing that error when trying to connect the account, or did the fix for the incident resolve it?

Want to make sure you’re all set! 🙂
