This post was split from the topic:

Will the Google Sheets Zap ever be truly instant, or is there a workaround for this? Currently, I have to wait around 3 minutes despite being on the Team Plan.

Hi @Abeauclair, welcome to the Community! 🎉

Hope you don’t mind but I’ve moved your question out into a new topic so it can be addressed separately.

The ~3 minute delay you're experiencing would apply to all Zapier plans, including the Team plan you’re on. Although those Google Sheets triggers are labelled as “instant” they’re actually a hybrid of both instant and polling methods, which can take a few minutes to process.

We’ve got a feature request open for the instant triggers to be made fully instant, instead of a being hybrid-style of trigger, so I’ve added your vote for that. I can’t provide any sort of timeline as to when it might be implemented but we’ll be sure to drop you an email if it is!

In the meantime, there’s a couple ways of approaching this which are outlined in our Google Sheets: triggers aren't instant guide:

  • Continue using Google Sheet triggers. While Google Sheet triggers may take up to 3 minutes to trigger your Zaps, they remain a viable option if the delay is acceptable.
  • Change your spreadsheet app. Consider using an alternative spreadsheet app such as Zapier Tables if you require an instant trigger. You can view all of our spreadsheet apps in our App Directory.

If you decide to give a different spreadsheet app a try and run into any trouble, just let me know and I’ll be happy to lend a hand! 🙂
