Hello,

I am unable to save multiple attachments from Gmail. This question was already asked but I’m pretty sure the “best answer” doesn’t make any sense.

See here:

Like that original poster, I have the variable set to upload “Attachments (exists but not shown)”. Only one file uploads. The “best answer” implies you should change it to “attachment details” or something, but when you do, the only thing that uploads is a text document of the attachment filenames, which no one wants.

Please advise if this is possible!

@paige

Have you turned your Zap ON and tested with a new email that has multiple attachments?

Check your Zap Runs to see if the Zap is triggering multiple times for an email with 2+ attachments: https://zapier.com/app/history/

Remember it can take some time for the Zap to trigger since it’s not an instant trigger.

NOTE: If you are testing manually as part of configuring the Zap, then yes only 1 file will be sent to GDrive.

If you’d like Zapier Support to look into this more you can open a ticket here: https://zapier.com/app/get-help

Hi @Troy Tessalone that is not what’s happening. I am getting the first file out of ten files uploaded, with the setup I screen shotted and sent. I would love for a zip file. Or anything except what’s happening.

@paige

If you have an email with 10 attachments and use the trigger Gmail New Attachment, then for each detected attachment the Zap will trigger.

If you have an am with 10 attachments and use a different trigger, the attachments will be grouped into a ZIP file.

I have multiple files on my email but the Zap is giving me a Zip file combining all the files.

If you're using one of the new email-type Gmail triggers and find that all of the attachments on those e-mails are being zipped use the Gmail "New Attachment" trigger instead.

This trigger runs once for every attachment on an email.

Hi @Troy Tessalone I assumed “once per attachment” meant “once per attachment in email,” as in it would trigger every time it detects an attachment, which for an email with 10 attachments, would be 10 times. Am I understanding correctly that there is no way to upload multiple attachments via gmail?

@paige

The Zap will trigger once per attachment as indicated by the trigger. (see screenshot below)

FYI: This trigger is NOT instant, and depending on your Zapier plan, can take from 1-15 minutes to fire and process.

Check your Zap Runs history here: https://zapier.com/app/history/

@Troy Tessalone Thanks for your response.

The issue is the emails have multiple attachments and only one attachment is being uploaded.

@paige

That looks correct.

Have you tried testing?

What is the error or issue you are encountering now?

Hi @Troy Tessalone

Please see below:

Hi @paige

Can you please provide screenshots of how your Zap steps are configured?

Try using the Gmail New Attachment trigger.
