I am having a hard time connecting outlook 365 to zapier. I work for a company and have microsoft 365 and it says i do not have permissions to access resources, that i need an admin to grant me access. There is no option to have an admin grant me access. HELP!

@BatmanVCA

Might be best to open a ticket with Zapier Support for further assistance: https://zapier.com/app/get-help

Generally your Admin would have to adjust settings/permissions on their side in Outlook not via the popup.

@BatmanVCA

Check the available Zap triggers/actions for each app:

Smartsheets: https://zapier.com/apps/smartsheet/integrations#triggers-and-actions

Outlook: https://zapier.com/apps/microsoft-outlook/integrations#triggers-and-actions

Here’s a help article for how to configure Zap actions with dynamic variables mapped between Zap steps: https://zapier.com/help/create/basics/set-up-your-zap-action

@Troy Tessalone YEs I think thats the route i need to go. Get my company admin to allow my outlook to accept Zapier. Thanks Troy. Would you happen to know if it is possible to send out an outlook email from outlook but with data pulled from smartsheets? I am trying to integrate smartsheets with outlook to do this but only thing i can find is zapier.

Hi @BatmanVCA

Good question.

I Can't Connect My Account

First, make sure you can properly log into https://outlook.office365.com/. Usually, that means you must have an Office 365 Business or Office 365 Enterprise account in order to use Zapier. You won't be able to connect to a personal or education account.

These accounts do not work:

  • Outlook.com accounts.
  • Office Home accounts.
  • Live.com or other personal Microsoft accounts.

If you're getting and error that says The user or administrator has not consented to use the application with ID 'XXXXX', this means that your Microsoft account doesn't have the right permissions to connect to Zapier. You'll need to have your Office 365 administrator grant you access to connect to third parties.

I saw all of this on google when i searched. Yes, i have an outlook office 365 account. THe error is what gets me, i get this page that says that i need admin rights but when my admin logged in there is nothing for him to do other than sign in as himself. makes no sense. i attached the message. all roads lead me to this same message. someone pls help :(
