Monday status to trigger Mailchimp email

Hello! I am looking to create a workflow for a Monday board with a status column with 10 or so options. Each status will be aligned with an email template in Mailchimp. So:

  1. a Monday form is filled out
  2. which creates an item on the Monday board
  3. Status X is automatically assigned to the item (from Monday automation)
  4. when Status X is assigned it triggers Mailchimp Email X to send
  5. the email statistics (sent, opened, etc.) are logged for that item in Monday (on the same board, preferable in a new column) to confirm the email has sent and if it was opened.
  6. if Monday item status changes from X to Y (manually) it triggers Mailchimp Email Y to send
  7. repeat step 5 (email stats)
  8. if Monday Status changes from Y to Z (manually) it triggers Mailchimp Email Z to send
  9. repeat step 5 (email stats)
  10. and so on

I’ve tried a few different Zaps,  -- specifically, if item is created in Monday, add name to “list” or “tag” in Mailchimp, then send it on a “journey,” but have not figured out how to make the connection when the status changes to a specific selection from the dropdown trigger a specific email to send.

Any help is much appreciated!

Hey folks! Just wanted to summarize the solution, including the Filter configuration:

Try adding a Filter step to your Zaps: https://zapier.com/apps/filter/help

Middle operator should be contains / exactly matches

Right side should be a static value for the name of the Status.

I am also searching for this problem. Now my problem is sloved. Thanks for the best solution. I am going to bookmark this here https://community.zapier.com/general-questions-3/monday-status-to-trigger-mailchimp-email-15074?postid=62808#post62808-gosloto.

@Katie Dodd

Left side argument should be the Status from Step 1.

Middle operator should be contains / exactly matches

Right side should be a static value for the name of the Status.

Please post screenshots with how your Filter step is configured for us to have more context, thanks.

Thanks Troy!

I’ve attempted adding an “only continue if status exactly matches status” or “contains” filter step, but the only option is the first status in my dropdown. I cannot select specifics.
