Need to be able to send an email triggered from planning center workflow card from a specific step in the workflow.

Hi @PattyDrake 👋

Just reaching out here as I spotted you also got in touch with our Support team about this. It seems you were wanting to trigger a Zap each time a contact enters a new step in your workflow, but there wasn’t a trigger available for that currently.

They submitted a feature request on your behalf for a "New Card in Workflow Step" type of trigger to be added. While we don’t have any estimate as to when the developers of the Planning Center app will get that type of trigger added we’ll definitely be sure to email you as soon as it becomes available!

In the meantime, if the Planning Center API is able to send a webhook notification when a card is moved to another step in the workflow then perhaps you could try using the Webhooks app for your Zap’s trigger—I’d suggest reaching out to Planning Center’s support team directly to confirm if that’s an option. Webhooks are a bit more advanced but we have a general guide on how to set up Webhooks triggers that can help in getting you started: Trigger Zaps from webhooks.

Hope that helps. If you do go down that route and run into any issues in getting the Webhooks trigger set up just let us know and we’ll be happy to lend a hand! 🙂

Hi @PattyDrake,

Welcome to the Community! 🎉

I want to make sure I fully understand what you're trying to accomplish. Which apps are involved in this Zap? Could you provide a step-by-step breakdown of what you're aiming to achieve?

If you can phrase it like "When A happens in [App X], B should happen in [App Y]," that’ll help me give you the best possible guidance.

Thanks in advance!
