How to make an Microsoft Outlook reply draft stay in the email thread?

Hi, I have a Zap set up to draft ChatGPT email responses. The draft responds to the email on Outlook but when it creates a draft, it separates it from the thread I am replying to. Is there a feature or workaround to make a reply draft stay in the thread?

Hey folks,

Just stopping by to share that the feature request has been implemented! A new Create Draft Reply action has been added to the Microsoft Outlook app on Zapier that will allow you to use a Zap to make a draft reply to emails in Outlook.

Hi there @lfg2003,

Welcome to the Community! 🎉

I did some digging into this, and it seems like this is not possible with the Microsoft Outlook integration at the moment. We do have an open feature request for this, and I have added you to that feature request. That does a few things:

  • Bring this to the attention of the integration developers
  • Help track interest in this feature being implemented
  • Allows us to notify you via email if this feature becomes available in the future

While I don't have an ETA on when this feature might be implemented, we will notify you via email if it is!

In the meantime, have you tried using Gmail as a workaround? Gmail has a “Create Draft Reply” action that creates a draft reply to an existing email.

Hopefully, this points you to the right direction! 😊
