How do I create a rotation reminder to slack

I wonder if we could create a rotation reminder to slack using Zapier?

 

I have a team that consists of 6 people. We agree that each of us will take turns, taking care of a certain weekly task. When a new week begins, I want an automation that sends a message to slack and tags that person to remind them that it's their turn this week.

 

Is this something that we can do?

Create a GSheet.

Add these columns

  • Date
    • Format: YYYY-MM-DD
  • User
    • Email

 

Zap steps

  1. Trigger: Schedule - Weekly
    1. Set the Day
    2. Set the Time
  2. Action: Formatter > Date & Time > Format
    1. Format: YYYY-MM-DD
  3. Action: GSheets - Lookup Row
    1. Lookup Column: Date
    2. Lookup Value: Date output from Zap step 2
  4. Action: Slack - Find User by Email
    1. Search by email from Zap step 3
  5. Action: Slack - Send Channel Message
