Hello there,
I am trying to notify a specific user with a DM in google chat/spaces. I can’t seem to figure this one out.
Using slack as an analogy where this is perfectly possible (searching for a contact via his email address and then sending him a direct message). Is there any way to accomplish this in Google Spaces / chat ?

Hey there,
I did some digging and as ya’ll have found - sending a DM isn’t a supported action in the Google Chats app. 😔
That said, there is an open feature request for this that I’ve added your vote to! While it doesn’t guarantee this will be implemented, it’s the best way to stay in the loop if that changes. We’ll also be sure to update this topic at that time. 🙂

Good question.
The Google Chat Zap app only has 1 action: Create Message
In the Zap step config, you must select a Hangouts Chat Room.
That means it does not appear you are able to send DMs.
