Gmail to Redmine zap through firewall

Hi, I want to connect Gmail to Redmine to create tickets from a mail. Cfr.

But our Redmine instance is not on the public internet and therefore needs to pass our firewall. How do you configure this? To what port will Gmail through the Zapier zap call?

Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

Hi @batopilas! I can see that you reached out to the Support Team about this, and it’s likely that it will be best to continue the conversation with them.

For any folks with a similar issue, here is some information from the Support Team’s reply that should help.

You will need to make sure the REST API is enabled in Redmine. You can do this by going to Administration -> Settings -> Authentication and ticking the Enable REST API checkbox. On the firewall side you will need to allow connectivity to the Redmine instance. My hunch is this would be on port 443 but Redmine support should be able to clarify.

We have a list of Zapier IP's that you can whitelist to allow our servers connection only. We're unable to provide specific IPs to whitelist as our IPs are not static - they rotate because we use AWS. Because of how many possible IP addresses exist in their network, there is no way to functionally whitelist all of these IP addresses, should you be self-hosting an app behind a restrictive firewall. You can see the list that AWS of their IP address ranges here: https://ip-ranges.amazonaws.com/ip-ranges.json

Some more info from our help docs can be found here:

Once you have the firewall connectivity in place you can use this link to guide you through connecting to your Redmine account - https://zapier.com/help/doc/how-get-started-redmine
