Hey guys,

 

So I am trying to set up a Zap between BambooHR and Slack. Ideally I’d like BambooHR to send a Slack message to a channel whenever a new employee is added

 

I know there is a default Zap for this, however it does not work. When a new employee is added, there is no slack notification - now I am assuming the notification is supposed to go out semi-instantly (on my plan it sends out every 2 minutes) - but I have a hunch that it will send out the notification on the start date rather than when a new employee is added.

 

Any ideas?

FYI: Most Zap app integrations are maintained by the app developer, rather than Zapier, so would be best to direct this feature request to BambooHR.

Thank you for the info; I wasnt aware the Zap integration itself is maintained by the original app developer; I will send them a message as well!

Perhaps try check the permissions in BambooHR?

 

Does the BambooHR account need any special account permissions?

Some actions require a certain level of permissions to use them.
For example, the "Respond to Time Off Request" action can only be used by users who are able to approve time off requests.

Thank you for taking the time to respond! 

I currently have Full Admin and Owner access in BambooHR

I decided to do a quick test, I made 2 new employees, one with a start date in 2 weeks = No notification

One with an immediate start date and the notification was sent successfully

Seems like my hunch was correct, it will only send “Add New Employee” Notifications on the start date of that new employee! 

I hope this can be changed at some point so it can trigger as soon as it is added, otherwise its a bit pointless getting a heads up notification if they already started lol 

Good for other purposes tho!
