Hi!

Is it possible to send an email to a person only when a task with a specific value in a specific field is created in a project?

@Alessandro-Berlin

Check out Asana Rules: https://asana.com/guide/help/premium/rules

You may be able to facilitate some of the requirements w/o a Zap.

If using a Zap, will likely need to use a Filter step: https://zapier.com/apps/filter/help

Available Slack actions are here: https://zapier.com/apps/slack/integrations#triggers-and-actions

Depends on what Email app you’d be using and what the email template is.

Just checking in to see if you still need help with this?

Hi @Alessandro-Berlin

Below are the available Asana triggers via Zapier.

You likely need to have a Filter as Step 2 in the Zap: https://zapier.com/apps/filter/help

What app would be used to send the email? (e.g. Gmail)

How does Slack come into play?

Thanks @Troy Tessalone !

This is the use case

  • A team member fills out a form on Asana
  • The Asana form creates automatically a task in a specific project
  • IF the project type is X, then
    • Option 1: the assignee becomes Y
    • Option 2: Y get an email OR a slack message about the fact that a new task has been created

How do you suggest to proceed?
