Can anyone explain what is the purpose of field  key in .zapierapprc file?

I am unable to find any information regarding this in the documentation and I cannot push this file in my organization repo with key being in the file.

Can I remove the file and can still upload the code to zapier platform? and please explain the significance of the field as well

That’s a field we use internally for, essentially, integration identification.
