Hey! I”m trying to create an automation that goes from (simplified but you get the idea)

Airtable new row → Prompts SOMETHING to do some research → AI writes summary → adds summary to Airtable.

It doesn’t seem ChatGPT is connecting to the internet to search for up-to-date info. Will Claude do this? Is this where I need perplexity?

Hi @Victoria Boyd, welcome to the Community! 🎉

The Claude and ChatGPT apps don’t currently support web search, as far as I know. You might want to try AI by Zapier instead—it has Search Content Across URLs and Extract Content From URL actions, which let it visit pages you specify and help answer questions based on that content.

Alternatively, you could use a Zapier Agent which also has the ability to search the web. If you haven’t tried Agents yet, here’s some helpful guides to get started:

Do you think either of those options might work for your use case? Or were you specifically hoping to run ChatGPT’s Deep Research feature in a Zap?

If it’s Deep Research you’re wanting to use—which, like web search isn’t currently supported—I’d recommend reaching out to our Support team to put in a feature request for that to be added. That ensures it gets on the team’s radar for future consideration.

Looking forward to hearing from you! 🙂

Hey @SamB ! Thanks for getting back to meeeee! I’ll definitely check out AI by Zapier. I’ll def put in a feature request.

In the meantime, I’ve got Perplexity set up. I’m getting an error with the Airtable side of things though that’s kinda confusing. It’s “

Failed to create a record in Airtable

The app returned "Cannot update more than one record for fields to merge on".”

and I’ve tried everything to figure out how to fix it. Any advice?
