Zap immediately reverts to "Off" after refresh - No error messages

Hi everyone,

I am running into a bizarre issue with a specific Calendly Zap ("Invitee Created" trigger). I’m hoping someone has seen this "silent crash" behavior before.

The Issue:

1. I toggle the Zap to "On". The UI shows it as Active/On.

2. Crucially: As soon as I refresh the page (or navigate back to the dashboard), the Zap status has silently reverted to "Off".

3. I receive zero error emails or notifications.

4. No task history is generated because it never actually stays live.

What is confusing (Everything seems to work manually):

• Connection is valid: i can test the trigger and it comes back positive.

• Editor Tests Pass: Inside the Zap editor, I can pull samples ("Find new records") successfully. It pulls in the correct data.

• Action Tests: All subsequent steps in the whole zap test successfully with green checkmarks.

• Auth Check: I ran the Zapier AI Troubleshooter, and it reports the Calendly Auth is is_stale: false.

Troubleshooting steps I have already taken:

1. Reconnected Auth: I fully disconnected and reconnected the Calendly account in the Zap step multiple times.

2. Refreshed Fields: I refreshed the trigger fields and re-selected the specific Event Type.

3. Duplicated the Zap: I created a copy of the Zap. The copy exhibits the exact same behavior (won't stay on).

My Question:

Has anyone experienced this "silent crash" before? Since everything tests green and other Zaps work, I don't understand why this specific Zap refuses to stay active.

How can I get the status to stay ON?

Thanks!

Hi @EpicATLA

You need a Calendly paid plan to use Calendly in Zaps.

Hello @EpicATLA

That usually means the Zap is failing a publish-time check even though tests pass.

Quick things to try:
Re select the Calendly Event Type from the dropdown in case it was changed or access was lost.
Create a brand new Calendly connection or reconnect with a different user if this is an Instant trigger.
Build a brand new Zap and add only the trigger first, then turn it on before adding actions.

If it still turns itself off, this typically needs Zapier Support. They can see backend publish or webhook errors that don’t surface in the UI.

Hi @Troy Tessalone,

You were right! It turned out my client was indeed on a free Calendly plan, which I wasn't aware of at the time.

Once we upgraded the account to a paid plan, the Zap stayed "On" immediately. Thanks for pointing out that specific requirement, it saved me a lot of debugging time!

Hi @drtanvisachar,

Thank you for taking the time to write out these troubleshooting steps!

In this specific case, it turned out to be the issue Troy mentioned above. My client was on a free Calendly plan, and I didn't realize that was a blocker for the integration to stay live. Once we sorted the subscription, the Zap worked perfectly.

I appreciate your help nonetheless!
