I am trying to transfer invoice out of our Knowify system through Zapier to import them into Xero so we can send out invoices. I have all of our data correctly importing into Xero except for the invoice numbers. Xero keeps giving its own invoice numbers instead of taking the invoice numbers from Knowify. Below is the data in and out, is there anything I can do to make Xero accept the invoice numbers from Knowify?

Hi @Mfreeman

For us to have more context, post screenshots with how your Xero Zap step is configured in EDIT mode so we can see the field types and field descriptions which may be found by clicking on the field label.

Sorry I am new to Zapier, is this what you mean?

@Mfreeman

We would need to see screenshots with how your Zap step 4 is configured in EDIT mode for the “Configure” section.

Sorry it didn’t upload all the pictures here are the rest.

@Mfreeman

Clarify which Xero field you are trying to use to set the Invoice Number from Knowify. (screenshot)

@Mfreeman

From the Xero API endpoint documentation for Invoices: https://developer.xero.com/documentation/api/accounting/invoices/#post-invoices

@Troy Tessalone

I am using InvoiceNumber. I believe I missed adding it in last post sorry about that.

@Mfreeman

Try using the existing field: Number

Click the field label to see a tooltip.

@Troy Tessalone

Thank you for that. Now it shows up on the test correctly but when you look at the invoice in Xero it still creates its own invoice. Xero might have an issue with that then I guess? I appreciate your help with this.

@Mfreeman

You can try adding this Zap action: Xero - Update Sales Invoice

There is a field: Invoice Number

Check your Xero settings.

You can try reaching out to Xero Support for help understanding how their app handles Invoice Numbers.

@Troy Tessalone

The first answer you gave me actually ended up being the solution. I appreciate your help with getting this working.
