Why can't I find the 'Marketing' field in Donorbox when filtering by Zapier?

I’m trying to create a zap where fundraisers for campaigns in Donorbox who have said they are happy to hear from us for marketing purposes are sent to our DotDigital account.

When I’m in the filter section I don’t get the field I need to select it yet when I get to the test data in the final step the data field in Donorbox ‘MARKETING’ appears.

Why doesn’t this appear in the Filter by Zapier step?

So my process is 

Donorbox - new or updated campaign

Filter conditions - filter by Zapier

DotDigital - create or update contact

So sadly the response I got from Zapier was that custom fields weren’t yet integrated as part of the Donorbox integration. They have raised a ticket as part of their development work with them and asked if they can add this in.

Zapier uses sample data to populate fields in the Filter step. If the 'Marketing' field is a custom field in Donorbox, it may not be included in the default sample data retrieved by Zapier during setup.

I recommend the following: 

Use Custom Field Mapping in Zapier to manually add the 'Marketing' field. Follow these steps:

  • In the Filter by Zapier step, click the + button to add a new condition.

  • Instead of selecting a field from the dropdown, manually type the field name (e.g., {{custom_fields.MARKETING}}).

  • Set the condition (e.g., equals or contains) and the value (e.g., true or yes)

Thanks for the update, ​@Helen C—really appreciate you sharing this! 🤗 As the Support team mentioned, we can’t make any promises around when you can expect the feature request to be implemented by, but you’ll definitely get an email notification from us as soon as it is. And we’ll be sure to share an update here in the Community once Donorbox’s developers have got it sorted.

In the meantime, it might also be worth reaching out to Donorbox’s Support team directly about this—sometimes hearing directly from customers can help in prioritizing feature requests.
