I’m experiencing an issue with the WhatsApp Notifications App in my Zap. The Zap runs successfully, and the action log shows a status of 200 with message_status: accepted. However, the intended recipients are not receiving the messages on their WhatsApp accounts.

One thing I’ve noticed in the logs is this warning:
x-ad-api-version-warning: You are calling a deprecated version of the Ads API.

Upon checking Meta’s documentation, I found that the latest Graph API version is v21.0, released in October 2024. The WhatsApp Notifications App currently seems to be using v17.0, which is now deprecated.

I’m wondering:

  1. Is the deprecated API version causing this issue?
  2. Does Zapier plan to update the WhatsApp Notifications App to the latest API version?

Has anyone else encountered this issue or found a workaround? I’d appreciate any insights or suggestions.

Thanks in advance for your help!

Best regards,
Musammil

Hi @Musammil! 👋

Thanks for reaching out about this. I can see that you’ve already reached out to our Support team about these messages appearing successful in the Zap history but not being sent, and they have added you to the bug report for this issue. That bug report has previously been mentioned in the Community over here:

1. Is the deprecated API version causing this issue?
2. Does Zapier plan to update the WhatsApp Notifications App to the latest API versio

I can’t confirm that for certain, but if this issue occurred around the same time that the new version of the API was added (or changes were made to that version) then the cause is likely related to the API. Our engineers are working with Meta to get this resolved as soon as possible.

We’re unable to give any estimate as to when it will be resolved by, but we’ll definitely send you an email notification as soon as it is. Since we already have one thread in the Community linked to this issue I’ll be closing thread out now. This will ensure that nothing gets lost across multiple threads, allowing folks to keep track of updates for the issue within a single place. Really appreciate your patience on this in the meantime, we’ll be sure to keep the main topic here updated with any news on this.
