Hi everyone,

I created a simple Zap using a Webhooks by Zapier trigger (Catch Hook). It worked fine the first time. Then, I decided to duplicate the Zap to make a second version, but something didn’t work as expected, so I deleted the duplicate and started over from scratch.

I generated a new webhook URL and asked my payment provider to update the webhook on their checkout page. Now, when I try to test the trigger, Zapier shows that a hook was received, but no data is coming through — I only see:

_zap_data_was_skipped: true

This is blocking my progress, and I’d really appreciate help. I have a feeling it's a small mistake I’m overlooking, especially since this is only my second time working with Zapier and webhooks.

Thanks in advance!
Avia

Hi @Aviasvoice

Help links for using Webhooks: https://zapier.com/apps/webhook/integrations#help

Each Zap trigger step using a Webhook (Catch Hook / Catch Raw Hook) will generate a unique webhook URL to use.

The origin app needs to have each of the Webhooks added.

Then the origin app needs to send data to the Zap webhook URL for you to use to configure the Zap action steps.

Yes, I understand that. The origin app has confirmed that they implemented the Zapier webhook URL, but it doesn't seem to work — no data is coming through. I'm not sure what to do next.

@Aviasvoice

Have the origin app provide proof of the configured webhook URL.

Have the origin do another test to send data to the webhook URL.

Make sure to keep the Zap trigger step open to receive the webhook data payload.

Or turned the Zap ON and once you receive a webhook data payload in your Zap Run history, you can select that to be used as a Zap trigger step example record to configure the Zap action steps.
