Question

Use Alexa to Add Notes to OneNote

Every night, I have Zap automatically create a new Page in a specific OneNote Section.  I then created a flow that uses Alexa to append to that new page.  I am able to get all the texts to work, but when I prompt Alexa, she seems unable to pass my voice back to Zapier and then OneNote.  She says, “Oops… “ Has anyone gotten Alexa to append their spoken words into OneNote using Zapier?  Thx.

Hi @Garysa,

Welcome to the Community.

If you're having trouble linking Alexa to OneNote via Zapier, ensure your Alexa device is connected correctly and using the correct voice commands. Enable the Zapier skill in the Alexa app and link your account. In Zapier, set up a Zap with 'Amazon Alexa' as the trigger (for example, "New Recorded Audio") and 'OneNote' as the action (for example, "Append Section Page"). Use voice commands like "Alexa, tell Zapier to append..." If issues persist, contact Alexa or OneNote support for help.

I hope this helps. If you have any other questions or need further assistance, please don't hesitate to ask.

Thanks Jammer.  This issue I am having is Alexa is not taking the voice input and putting it into OneNote.  Is there something I should be doing between the Alexa trigger and OneNote Action that tells Alexa to record and transcribe?  I cannot find info on this anywhere.  Thanks.

Hi @Garysa,

Currently, Zapier doesn't support direct integration with Alexa for voice transcription. To work around this, you could use an Alexa Skill like 'TranscribeMe' to capture transcriptions, but you'd need to copy them into OneNote manually. For a more automated solution, consider using a voice assistant like Google Assistant, which can integrate directly with Zapier to send transcribed voice notes to OneNote.
