Hello,
although none of my contacts have been updated in sendinblue, Zapier has updated my contacts in Google Contacts, creating duplicates.
In addition, tasks were used unnecessarily, which I am now missing.

Why is this in my Zap?

Thanks.

Here is my Zap:

Hi @vantage

Good question.

You can check your Zap Runs to see the DATA IN/OUT for each Zap step to help you troubleshoot.

Your Zap trigger is SIB - New/Updated Contact, which will trigger for NEW Contacts as well as UPDATED Contacts.

Your Zap action is for GContacts to create a Contact.

To avoid duplicates try these Zap actions:

Action: GContacts - FInd/Create Contact

Action: GContacts - Update Contact

@Troy Tessalone OK, so you mean, i should use “Find Contact in Google Contacts” AND use “Create Google Contacts Contact if it …..” instead of my “old” Zap Action “Create Contact in Google Contacts”?

I am right?

Thank you.

Here ist the Zap what i should chosse?:

@vantage

Yes, you should use Find Contact else Create Contact all within 1 step.

Then you can follow that with an Update Contact step (if you want) to update the found Contact.

@Troy Tessalone OK, so i will do. Thank you!

I have a similar issue where my Google Contacts are being duplicated. The just started happening after an issue was resolved a couple of weeks ago with the Google Contact records. Any thoughts on how to fix this?

Hi @Daryn,

The problem might stem from a misconfiguration in your Zapier settings. To troubleshoot, check your Zaps for duplicates or unnecessary ones.

Ensure the trigger and action settings are correctly configured, and delete any duplicate contacts in Google Contacts. Try reconnecting your Google Contacts account with Zapier. If the issue persists, contact Zapier support for further help. Always back up your contacts before making significant changes.

It’s still kicking out duplicates. Thanks for trying to help.

Hi there @Daryn,

I’m jumping in to see if I can help!

Before we dig deeper into this, would you mind sharing a detailed screenshot of how your Zap is configured? Please share a screenshot of the “Configure” section of the action step in the “Edit” mode that shows all of its fields.

Additionally, please share a screenshot of the Data IN and Data OUT of the Zap run.

Please don't include personal information in the screenshot, or be sure blur out any personal information.

Thanks!
