Unable to connect Firebase to Zapier due to access issues

I have a problem in Zapier when trying to connect my Firebase account. I have using both forms of Project ID (projectID & projectID-default-rtdb)

Neither one works and I have hit this message every time:

Oh, foo.

Zapier could not connect to your account.

Unable to verify that your connection has access to the Firebase/Firestore project.

My realtime database settings are as follows:

Environment: Unspecified
Database location: Belgium (europe-west1)

Anyone find a solution to this?

Hi @Ross Parker

Check the instructions and link in the screenshot below.

https://zapier.com/help/firebase/#how-get-started-firebase

Via Firebase Console!--tgqphd|[]-->!--tgqphd|[]-->: Log into the Firebase Console. Select your project, click the Gear Icon (Project Settings)!--tgqphd|[]--> in the left sidebar, and view the Project ID!--tgqphd|[]--> in the top pane of the General!--tgqphd|[]--> tab.!--tgqphd|[]-->!--tgqphd|[]-->

Hi @Ross Parker just checking in, did Troy’s suggestion work for you? Were you able to fix the issue? If not, could you share a screenshot and a quick description of what your Zap is doing? That would help us troubleshoot the issue better.

Hi @Ross Parker 👋

The error is most likely due to the location of your database. The Firebase/Firestore app currently only supports US-hosted databases, so a Belgium (EU-hosted) database wouldn’t be able to connect. We’ve got an existing feature request for adding EU database support, so I've added your vote to it. We can't give a timeline on when that might be added, but we'll send you an email as soon as it is!

In the meantime, you could try creating a new Firestore database in a US region instead, which would let you connect to it via Zapier, though I know that’s not an ideal solution if your data needs to be stored in the EU. If you do go that route and run into any trouble, just let us know!
