Troubleshooting Zapier not pulling new contacts from Wix

This worked great about a month ago then I realized recently that the contacts werent appearing in y CRM anymore. I tried to run some diagnostics and when I pull a record from Wix it is a contact that does not exist anywhere. I have test submitted the form in wix several times and it still pulls an “example” record.

Check the warning in the screenshot below.

Do you have the relevant Wix app installed on your site for the Zap to work?

Help link for using Wix in Zaps: https://zapier.com/apps/wix/integrations#help

TIP: Click underlined field labels to a tooltip with more info.

You can try disconnecting Wix app account connection, then reconnecting to Zapier here: https://zapier.com/app/connections

Hi @Conzo427 thanks for sharing this issue! Some Zapier integrations are programmed to only pull dummy sample data when you’re running a test trigger.

When you first set the Zap a month ago, could you pull real data when testing, or was it already like this?

If it was different last time, then it could resemble a similar issue I had with a client 6 weeks ago. I could solve it by first reconnecting Wix to the Zapier account, and then manually pasting the forms IDs in the Trigger step by clicking the 3 dots button > “Custom” mapping. (You can find these IDs by opening the forms from Wix and checking the URL bar)

Finally, also be careful that the Trigger can both be set to listen to “new” and “old” type forms. If all the rest failed, it’s worth a try.

Hopefully one of these solutions will be the one for you, please let me know if you still need help after trying this :)

Honestly, I dont remember if it pulled dummy info or not. I actaully set the zap up close to a year ago, it just stopped working last month as the last record that imported into my CRM was on Jan 2nd. There have been a lot of form submissions since but none of them have gone through.

Here is what I see:

There have been no runs in the history since Jan 2nd though the trigger has been satisifed 6 times since. The criteria hasn’t changed so the info in Data in/Data out still matches the current zap settings.

Both Connections look correct

The version may be the issue. I have seen V.3 in several places but I cant find them now. The last time the zap ran it shows v.2 for Wix. Where do I see the current version that I have? How do I correct it if it is in fact the issue?

Here’s a workaround using Wix Webhooks:

If you still need help, for us to have full context, post these screenshots:

  • how your Zap steps are outlined and configured in EDIT mode for each of the sections with the field mappings visible
  • your connected Wix app account from here: https://zapier.com/app/connections

Here are the photos of each step. “John Doe” never appears in HouseCall pro.

You may try to switch to the “Forms” trigger, in order to gain possibility to map the form IDs manually. Thanks for sharing all these screenshots! I believe the rest of your Zap is good though. It’s only the Wix webhook notifications to your Zap’s trigger that appear to be broken

I actually had it working with forms before, that is what stopped working. It wasnt until I noticed that I could also have a new contact as a trigger so I tried that and had the same end results.
