Troubleshooting Zapier integration issues between Plaud and Google products

1. Update your Gemini system instructions first
 
In your Google AI (Gemini) step, add or strengthen these rules in the system instructions:
Return ONLY a raw JSON array. No markdown, no code fences.
Every string value must be a single line. Do not put line breaks inside JSON strings.
In email_body, use spaces instead of newlines.
Escape quotes inside strings. If nothing to extract, return [].
That alone prevents most parse errors for meeting notes with long email drafts.
 
2. Use Code by Zapier's AI generator (instead of pasting code from us)

1. Open your Code step in the Zap editor.
2. Click Generate with AI (or the AI assist option in the Code editor).
3. Paste a prompt like this:

Input Data has one field called ai_output mapped from the Gemini response text.
Strip markdown code fences if present, parse the result as JSON, and return an array of objects.
Each object should have: title, start_time, type, email_recipient, email_body.
Return the array directly so later Zap steps run once per item.

1. Map Input Data: key ai_output → Gemini response text field.
2. Test step and confirm you see multiple rows/objects in the output, not a single blob.

Template pattern (adjust in the editor, not copy-paste as-is):

3. Add Loop + Paths after Code works
 
Once the Code test shows multiple items:

1. Add Looping by Zapier → Create Loop from Line Items (or rely on Code returning an array if you map fields correctly).
2. Add Paths with three branches:
   • type exactly matches task → Google Tasks: Create Task
   • type exactly matches event → Google Calendar: Create Detailed Event
   • type exactly matches email → Gmail: Create Draft
3. Remove or replace the old fixed Task/Calendar/Gmail steps that use hardcoded values.

The loop must come before Paths, not inside a path.
