Troubleshooting Slack file posting issues with Quickbooks Online PDFs

I have a zap that has been used for over 2 years that pushes a file (PDF Invoice) from Quickbooks Online into Slack.  it keeps erroring with no real error context other than the Hydrate is failing.  The very next step in the Zap uses the same PDF to send to EZEEP and it is not failing when I remove the slack step.  So I know its not the Quickbooks connector.  I also removed the PDF from the slack step and it just sends a message with text, and it works fine.  Isolated down to the PDF hydrating and posting to slack that its all of the sudden erroring with over the last 6 days.

Anyone else experiencing an issue with Slack and posting files?

Hi @utahbikerdude

I recommend opening a ticket with Zapier Support to look into this error further: https://zapier.com/app/get-help

Hi there, @utahbikerdude 👋

I just came across this and saw that the Support team added you to a bug report where Send Channel Message and Send Private Channel Message Slack actions (with a file attachment selected) were returning “Error while hydrating data from Slack: Cannot convert undefined or null to object” errors. Looking at the bug report though I can see that the issue was since resolved! 🎉

Not sure if you’ve seen the email notification that was sent out yet, but I wanted to confirm that no changes to your Zaps are needed to get things working again.

That said, if you run into any further issues do let us know. In the meantime, happy Zapping! 😁⚡

I’m so sorry to hear that, @utahbikerdude! In that case I’d suggest reaching back out to the Support team to flag that the issue appears to have resurfaced. They’ll investigate further and can re-open the bug report or create a new one if needed..

Want to make sure this gets taken care of, so please keep us updated on how you get on with them!
