I’m having this error, but I set correctly the External Id, just in Zapier been matching based on the real Account Id in Salesforce (I tested with static value and test past). What else I need complete to tell Zapier or Salesforce please compare with Custom External Id.

  • the encountered error in the Zap step
  • how your Zap step is configured in EDIT mode with the field mappings visible

It’s been a while since you posted here, were you able to fix the error? If you did, would you mind sharing what the solution was? Knowing how you fixed it would help out other folks that might be having similar errors in their Salesforce Zaps! 🙏

And if you’re still stuck, can you share some screenshots as Troy mentioned so we can double-check there’s no issues on the set up? Make sure to blur or remove all personal information (names, emails, addresses etc.) from screenshots before sharing—you can use a tool like Zappy for that.
