Hi,

I’m trying to automate transcriptions from Notta - I woud like it to trigger when a new folder and file are added to OneDrive, transcribe, then export onto an excel sheet.

I’m stuck at the step where Notta is used - I’ve linked it to my account which has minutes available. This is the error message it is giving (in screenshot).

I’ve tried using OneDrive and Google Drive and both work fine with their respective steps, but get the same error message on the Notta step.

Any ideas?

Thanks

Hi @bk1427

For us to have more info about the error, post these screenshots:

  • how your Zap steps are outlined
  • how your Zap steps are configured in the CONFIGURE tab while in EDIT mode with the field mappings visible so we can see the field types

Hi Troy, thanks for the quick response. Here are the additional screenshots

Help link for using files in Zaps: https://help.zapier.com/hc/en-us/articles/8496288813453

Field: Download URL

Value: Appears to have the correct variable mapped

Issue might be that Zap step 2 did NOT find a file, thus the mapped variable had no value for the required field.

You can add a Filter step to check that a File was found in Zap step 2 to prevent the Zap Run error.

Filter help: https://zapier.com/apps/filter/integrations#help

Try turning the Zap ON and testing live.

Then check your Zap Runs history details to see the DATA IN/OUT for each step.
https://zapier.com/app/history/

The filter step confirms a file was found and checking the Download URL from the data in part in the Notta section, the file in question starts downloading when I paste it into my browser.

@bk1427

Is the file being found in Zap step 2 returning a file in one of these formats? (audio or video)

Yes, .mp3

@bk1427

Copy/paste the Download URL from Zap step 2 into a new browser window.

Check if that initiates a direct download of the file.

If not, then that means the file is not publicly accessible.

You may need to change the OneDrive Folder settings to make the files in the folder publicly accessible.

Otherwise, check if there is a file object variable returned from Zap step 2 that you can use.

e.g. File (Exists but not shown)

Hey there, @bk1427 👋

Did Troy’s suggestions here help you to get rid of those errors?

Keep us posted on how it’s going, want to make sure this gets sorted! 🙂
