Before we dig deeper into this, could you please try inputting the Event ID in the “Event” field as a custom value? You should find the Event ID in the browser URL when viewing the Event in Manychat.
I’m trying to set up a ManyChat automation called "Rental Law: Comment to DM". However, when I attempt to select it from the static value dropdown, the automation does not appear in the list.
I’ve double-checked that the automation exists in ManyChat. Could you please help me figure out why it’s not showing up as a selectable option?
Here are the most common reasons why your ManyChat automation "Rental Law: Comment to DM" isn’t appearing in the dropdown for selection, along with how to fix them:
✅ 1. Ensure the Automation is Published
ManyChat only shows published automations in dropdowns for integrations.
Fix: Open the automation in ManyChat and confirm it's published, not just saved as a draft.
✅ 2. Check the Automation Type
If you're trying to use the automation in a Comment Growth Tool or via Zapier, ManyChat will only show certain types of flows (e.g. those triggered by keywords, comments, etc.).
Fix: Make sure the flow is:
Designed to be used in the context you’re working in (e.g., for “Comment to DM” usage).
Set up with the appropriate trigger (e.g., a Facebook/Instagram comment trigger).
✅ 3. Refresh the Integration
Sometimes ManyChat integrations (like Zapier or external tools) cache automation lists.
Fix: Try the following:
Refresh or reconnect the ManyChat account in the tool you're using.
Log out and back into the tool (e.g., Zapier).
Use the manual Flow ID (if the tool supports it) as a workaround.
✅ 4. Check Permissions & Workspace
If you’re working with multiple pages or workspaces:
Fix:
Make sure you’re selecting the same Facebook Page where the automation exists.
Check that your user role has permission to access the automation.
✅ 5. Flow Name Glitch
Rarely, if your automation name has special characters or similar names to many other flows, it might not display properly.
Fix: Try renaming the automation to something shorter/simpler and republish it.
🛠 Final Option: Use the Flow ID
If it still doesn’t show up:
Go to the flow in ManyChat.
Copy the Flow ID from the URL (e.g., https://manychat.com/flow/1234567890abcdef).
Manually enter or paste it into the tool you're integrating with (if supported).
Did Troy’s suggestions help you to get the event selected successfully?
If not, can you confirm whether the page in ManyChat is definitely connected to Zapier? Looking at this guide on ManyChat’s site it seems that if the page isn’t connected that will prevent the event from being available in the Zap:
Keep us posted on how it’s going, want to make sure this gets sorted! 🙂
