Is it possible to sync a teams meeting created in Google Calendar (using the Microsoft Teams add-on for Google Workspace) to an outlook calendar?

I tried using the Google Calendar > Microsoft Outlook trigger.

I select “Yes” for Online Meeting, and specify “Microsoft Teams” under Online Meeting Provider.

The event is created in Outlook calendar, but the Meeting ID is different from the one on Google Calendar.

I need to keep the Meeting ID that was created within Google Calendar.

Hi there @ukiews,

Welcome to the Community! 🎉

Before we dig deeper into this, would you mind sharing a detailed screenshot of how your Zap is configured? Also, please send a screenshot of the different ID that you’re seeing. This will help me take a closer look at the issue.

Please don't include personal information in the screenshot, or be sure blur out any personal information.

Thanks!

Here is the Zap setup:

Here is the section under Outlook 2. Create Event step at the bottom that allows to configure for MS Teams video call:

Here is the Meet ID in GCal:

Here is the Meet ID in MS Calendar (after I click “edit” in the preview window):

So it appears that instead of syncing the same meeting ID, the calendar in Outlook just creates a new Teams meeting.

@ken.a let me know if this is enough info.

Hi @ukiews,

Zapier can't directly transfer a Teams meeting link from Google Calendar to Outlook because Outlook generates a new link when creating an event. As a workaround, you can:

  1. Trigger a Zap when a 'New Event' is created in Google Calendar.
  2. Use the 'Find Event' action to retrieve the original Teams meeting URL.
  3. Create an event in Outlook, inserting the original URL into the description or body field.

This method won't make the event an official Teams meeting in Outlook, but the link will still be accessible. I hope this helps. If you have any further questions or need more assistance, feel free to ask.
