Sub Zap Issue

Hi,

As of this morning when I hit the “Select Your Sub Zap” I am not getting anything returned from what should be my list of available Sub Zaps … I believe there has been a new version of the Sub Zap recently deployed … does this mean I have to convert all my Sub Zaps to this latest version and then convert all my calls to the Sub Zaps to the latest version!

Is there no backward compatibility … or am I missing something?

For clarification: I want to call a Sub Zap from a new workflow, so have to use the latest version of “Sub-Zap by Zapier”, but none of my Sub Zaps appear in the available list. I therefore need to update the Sub Zap to the latest version for it to become selectable … but will this break all the other existing “Sub-Zap by Zapier (0.10.8)” calls that exist?

Did this topic help you find an answer to your question?

Same issue - extremely frustrating. Already had issues with sub-zaps a month ago...

Hi there @DPS and @xavierB! 👋

I’m so sorry to hear that you’re both having some trouble with your existing Sub-Zaps no longer being available to select. If the Sub-Zaps are using an earlier version of the Sub-Zap app then that could well be why they aren’t available to select. If you upgrade all the Zaps to use the latest version of the Sub-Zap app and you’re still having issues then I’d recommend reaching out to Support team to have this investigated further.

To workaround this issue in the meantime you could try manually selecting the Sub-Zaps by entering their ID. To do that you’d select the Custom value option from the Select Your Sub-Zap field, then type in the ID of the Sub-Zap into the field. I’m thinking that should help to select any missing Sub-Zaps for now. You can locate the ID of the Sub-Zap from it’s URL when editing it:

Hope that helps. Please keep us updated on how you’re both getting on with this, keen to ensure this gets sorted! 🙂

Yeah, great… by not making it backwards compatible, you are forcing everyone to manually change all their sub-zaps.

I spent half a day updating the 100+ sub-zaps in our organization. Not cool.

I’m sorry about all the extra work involved in updating your Zaps, @xavierB. It’s definitely not a great experience, and I’ll be sure to share your comments with the team.

Really appreciate you sharing this to help us improve the experience going forward. Please let me know if there’s anything else I can help with in the meantime.
